Ladies, Gentlemen and George Carlin

I'm a tad bored at work so I was thinking what nonsense I could get up to when I thought "We haven't had a nonsense 15 for some time"

Back in the good old days we used to come up with silly teams made up of animals, dogs, etc! Things like Elephants as tightheads or Border Collies as stand offs!

So, lets see what kind of Super Hero 15 we can come up with!

The rules of rugby still apply so Super Heros that fly are not allowed to fly as this would be "jumping over a tackle"

Post your Super hero in whatever position you like, and the reasons for the pick
I'll get the ball rolling with:

15.
14. The Flash - For obvious reasons Run
13.
12.
11.
10.
9.
8.
7.
6.
5.
4.
3.

Mr Fantastic in the second row, woudl rule the lineout. to bolster the scrum would maybe need his best friend the Thing beside him. Openside, fitting in with Richie McCaw, would have to be the Invisible Girl. To round out the Fantastic Four, how about the human torch on the left wing?

1. The Thing (obviously super-strong)
2.
3. The Incredible Hulk (same)
4.
5.
6.
7. Wolverine (tough to shift off the ball and when it comes to dirty play...)
8. Superman (has the right balance of super toughness and carefully maintained hair)
9.
10.
11. Quicksilver (speed)
12.
13. Batman (tough, agile, adaptable)
14. The Flash (see Quiksilver)
15. Spiderman (aerial experience)

I'd go Batman at 12, with Robin at 13. Great partnership.

Your Majesty, I was jesting. The reference was to certain Glasgow players and their choice of formal wear for an evening of fine dining in a west-end kebab shop.

As sam burgess has not yet appeared in a DC or marvel comic, he cannot be considered!

Welly has done a goodies vs baddies selection

Anyone fancy trying a marvel vs DC couple of teams?

I'm not sure about Batman in the centre though! I think Ironman or Superman would do a number on him

He would also have superman and Bizarro on either side if he was against Marvel. Both of who could take on Iron man easy enough.

I would have Jesse Custer on the side as waterboy, using his voice to tell the opposition to 'trip' or 'drop the ball' or 'miss that kick'. You'd never lose.

Or Hitman reading the fly halfs mind. Very useful.

I was a big Garth Ennis fan.

That's because Batman should not be on this list. He has zero super powers. Therefore, not a superhero.

Just a rich guy who has a lot of gadgets and a cool car. But also with a fetish for wearing black, prowling the streets at night, and hanging around with......boy wonders.

By that logic neither should iron man.

Batman has gone toe to toe with superman for gods sake. He has defeated Bane. (Who in the comic is much more of a badass than the film)

We are not talking Adam west Batman here.

Sorry to have come late to this thread, but I feel we are missing some key players here.

Might I introduce my own squad?

1. Matter Eater Lad (able to consume any matter at superspeed)
2. Infectious Lass (able to infect opponents with any transmissible disease)
3. Bouncing Boy (can inflate his body like a ball and bounce around without injury)
4. Anarchist (has the ability to secrete blasts of acidic sweat)
5. Tag (able to force opponents to either run away or run towards him)
6. Zeitgeist (able to vomit super acidic bile at will)
7. Tar Baby (sticks to anything)
8. Stone Boy (able to transform his body into indestructible - if immoblie - rock)
9. el Guapo (has no discernible superpowers, but owns a really neat skateboard)
10. Rainbow Girl (has the ability to instantly assume any emotional state)
11. Black Condor (raised by condors... to fly!)
12. Maggot (has mutant slugs inside his body which give him super strength, speed and stamina)
13. Arm Fall-Off Boy (can detatch his own limbs and uses them to beat opponents with)
14. Squirrel Girl (overwhelms opponents with squirrels, obviously)
15. Red Bee (has a trained swarm of bees)

Now, I know what you are thinking.
You are thinking, "But that's just a description of my own team".
But no!
They are genuine SUPERHEROS! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/02/19-weird-hilarious-superheroes-photos_n_1472258.html
