Ways to speed up the game
Knock ons;
Why penalise a SH for instance who momentarily fumbles a pick up at a ruck? Let it go and play on if an advantage hasn't been gained and the said fumble wasn't caused by an oppo player.

Might as well let the players carry knives and stab each other to death too, to create more space for the backs.

Don't be silly now. The thing is, some refs, some more than others, let things go and say play on. Why not let a few more things go is all i'm suggesting if it isn't affecting the general flow of the game. Too many stoppages in rugby my non rugby mate tells me and he's right.

By the way, when you say SH I assume you mean scrum half? Or do you mean a Southern Hemisphere player?!

I amnot in favour of allowing knock ons in any form
Best way to speed things up for me is to make most scrum offenses free kicks with yellow cards for deliberate and persistant infringements. Teams would play for penalties less

Slight change to your suggestion TJ out side the 22 scrum offences free kicks, in the 22 (or red zone as some now call it) present laws apply.

Give all the players roller skates...
Does the game need speeding up? Perhaps the resets at scrums, but bar that I think everything else is fine.

This. Sort of. I think building fatigue back into the game is more necessary. The dominance of defences slows the game down as much as anything. Certainly encourages players to slow ball.

You should be able to play a joker once in every game where you can remove a member of the opposing team for 10 minutes. What a laugh that would be.

Be a good feature on this here site an all. Kind of like a taser for idiocy.

Re: Ways to speed up the game
The best way to speed up the game is to limit the number of replacements that can be made. Throwing on 14 'fresh' players means that the natural space that occurs when players are tired is now lost to the game.
The number of replacements should be set to two outside of the front row.

This would make the biggest difference plus use the TMO without stopping the game as Barnes has during the RWC.

No warnings either. If it's deliberate then yellow straight away. No warnings or Nigel "look at me, i'm great" Owens get togethers.
