Batista- possible return?

It's Bloscar here, and my first proper post on 606v2! Having seen what the next PPV, Capitol Punishment, is called, and what with it being held in DC, and with Cena-Truth likely to be in the main event, does anybody else think that a Batista comeback could be on the cards? It's his home town, and, as far as I know, there's no other Washington-born wrestlers in WWE right now, and most crowds do usually get at least one 'home-town hero'. Is this a distinct possibility, or am I just clutching at straws here?

I really can't see it to be honest, I think you're just adding 2 and 2 together with this one, as far as I'm aware Batista is still intrested in main stream movies and MMA, Vince wouldn't give him a center stage unless re-signs and I can't see that happening anytime soon, I think Dave will be back but think it will be next year

I'd love to see Batista back but also can't see it happening anytime soon. He left the WWE because of the lack of direction and wanted to further a career in movies and MMA, but arguably failed cracking both, and with WWE having somewhat more of a direction now than when he left, its a possibility he'll return but it won't be as soon as Capitol Punishment

I have seen more and more news stories stating that Batista is open to a comeback, and that the WWE would actively chase him.

I doubt they'd waste it at Capitol Punishment however - seems more of a Summerslam thing.

As User Name said, Daniel Bryan is from Washington...who knows, they may let him have a dark match!

They are hyping it up alot, maybe that's just because it's a new PPV? Would like to see Batoaster back though (Nags reference there )

The ppv is in the capital Washington while Daniel Bryan comes from the state of Washington on completely the other side of the country from Washington DC it is confusing I know but look at a map and you will see what I mean.

If Batista wanted to make an impact on the biz then I'd rather he went to iMPACT! Wrestling than back to WWE

Cant agree with you here i'm afraid gaff, think it'd be a bad move for employee and employer. Whilst i appreciate that it would be an incredible marquee signing for TNA, i dont see Batista as a guy who can carry a company. They'd build the show around him, presumably as a face, and whilst initially he might be a big draw i wouldnt trust TNA to keep him relevant long term without burying the whole roster week after week. Not to mention TNA are building their very own 'Batista' in Crimson, and he'd suffer badly from it.

Batista wants to be in the brightest lights on the biggest stage, he's a red carpet perv, and i dont think he has any interest or desire to help build a wrestling company. He purely wants his name in bright lights, and go home with a large pay packet, and the WWE is the only place who can give him that.

I'm not so sure, if Panda or indeed Spike paid his wages then they'd match anything Vince could or would offer him plus the schedule wouldn't be anywhere near as heavy and TNA like they do would actively seek to promote him to outside parties, WWE would be the safe long term option though to be fair

To the original point I would love to see batista back (never thought id say that). It's a shame that he found his best character before leaving. If he come back would like to see him come back as the heel, he wasn't good enough on the Mic to be a face, and as a heel he could do less on the Mic and more beatdowns on some of the main face characters

I'm no fan of Batista at all, he sucked for far to long, his last 3 months was top notch stuff but it can't blind ur to the 5 year previous

i think the fact that hes from washington will be completely overshadowed by his return anyway.

I doubt he will return at CP

I think if Batista was to return he would almost definitley be a face character, and I think everybody would be wishing he'd stayed away.
