Tonights Action SPOILERS

First topic message reminder :

Thread for all of tonights action. First fight is supposed to be starting at around 8.05 and is going to be Chris Jenkins vs Tyrone Nurse in a rematch for the vacant British title.

Crolla now....

Think his chance was the last time, think Perez took him lightly and Crolla had the fight of his life.

I'm usually wrong though.

gotta appreciate the job froch did on AA - scoring 119-109, 120-108 and 120-108 in Froch's favour.

MM8, no. He covers up really well, has 30s a round and wins off that.

On the flip side, he wouldn't win away as judges will penalise him for inactivity.

Murray should have pressed his case more but AA is difficult. He's deathly efficient. As soon as he's not punching he clams up so well. So, the offensive boxer is usually punching gloves.

That said, I thought Murray punched round his guard well and accumulated body punches well.

I also thought AA hit Murray's guard a lot. But the fans cheered.

I feel sorry for Murray but he knew he had to be clear winner tonight to have a chance and didn't.

On a side note.....

Robert Guerrero vs Danny Garcia touted for 23rd Jan? Decent scrap that.

On this fight I'm going with Perez. Agree with what you say Rob however Crolla seems pumped and did rock him last time out.

You never know.

Noted a few on social media, seen it mentioned on here saying how well Froch did etc and Murray should have used those tactics. Big difference is that if Froch hits you it hurts, Murray is more like a tickle.

I agree Rob, but I do think sometimes this needs to be thought about. It's 11pm, they've been there drinking for a few hours and anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that a drunk lad at the boxing is going to act like a knob and yell stuff during a minutes silence, hell it at happens at the football on occasion before some have had a drink.

Gives boxing fans a bad name because of a few.

Watching the replay id say either a rib broke or wanted out cos didn't look that much of a shot on replay tbh

I was about to type that the body shots seemed to be effecting Perez but the action was still on.

Then Perez went down a minute later.

Couldn't be happier for Crolla. Couldn't go to a more deserving winner.

Crolla fought well and was in control.

Shows how little I know. Thought Murray would win and Crolla lose.

Perez was struggling with the body shots before he was felled. About a minute before Crolla caught him with a body shot and Perez dropped his hands and the look on his face was of pain.

The division that had Camacho..Chavez..Rosario...Arguello..Mancini...Whittaker and Bramble in the 80's. .

If he did take a dive then obviously he would try to make it look convincing. Or does that possibility escape you.

It was a clean shot that landed nicely, but there was nothing behind it. Nothing.

You see guys take endless shots to the body without seemingly much effect and then drop like a stone, from an innocuous looking one.

It didn't look like a fully planted shot, but if you don't know it's coming, if it hits the sweet spot it hits the sweet spot.

Listen I wanted Crolla to win. I'm a Manc. The way it ended just doesn't sit right with me. I know if a shot lands flush in the right spot it can put you down. I've boxed myself.
