First topic message reminder :

How many of these players do you reckon will be playing in Wales next season ?

All out of contract at the end of the season:-

Rhys Webb (Ospreys)
Alun Wyn Jones (Ospreys)
Scott Williams (Scarlets)
Taulupe Faletau (Dragons)
Leigh Halfpenny (Toulon)
Gareth Davies (Scarlets)
Alex Cuthbert (Blues)

Out if that seven I reckon Leigh Halfpenny, Alex Cuthbert and Tauluoe Faletau will not be in Wales next season. The Ospreys boys will re-sign and the mess surrounding Scott Williams will be sorted, Gareth Davies is apparently re-signing with Scarlets, but that is seven Wales first teamers there. They will be in demand no doubt.

After all the recent fuss, Scott Williams has re-signed with Scarlets (not sure if it's a NDC?). Gareth Davies expected to do so too. Good news for Wales.

Strange - guess it frees up some money in the WRU pot though, where was that when we needed to bump up Faletau's wages....

Its not a NDC as the WRU offer of a NDC was trumped by £80k by the Ospreys, which lead to it being withdrawn. Not particularly 'friendly', but good business by the Ospreys as that has now not only cost the Scarlets the additional 80k, but also the 60% the WRU would have been paying which will potentially hamper their chances with other signings.

Well they (the union) now have that extra money to go elsewhere. In what sense do you mean it hampers them? In that it shows they can occasionally be outbid by a region?

It means that Scarlets are spending £330k per annum for a player when the original DC would have seen them paying £100k.

Think he must be, because a saw a message on Facebook about his re-signing saying 'I saw Scott in Aldi (or was it Lidl) in Llanelli....' so maybe he can step up to Tesco now.
