A short lived playoff determined the winner of the final event of the Winter/Spring Session.  Jason Day's up and down on the 72nd hole ensured he completed a wire to wire win and won the playoff between McLaren and TheCleaver.  The Cleaver's best placed pick was Henrik Stenson who finished in a tie for third.

McLaren may have won but he didn't have the highest number of scoring picks after all was said and done.  Hibbz had five scoring picks while AlciG, who would have won had he not dropped Day for Stenson, had four scoring picks the same number as Beninho.  Just over half of the Fantasy League had three picks score points; BlueCoverman, BobtheJob, Davie, EmmDee57, Eyetoldyouso, GolferMartin, Kwinigolfer, LadyPutt, Owen10ozzy, Pedro, and SetupDetermines all joined McLaren in having three picks score.  1GrumpyGolfer, I'm Never Wrong, MustPuttBetter, Raycastleunited, Sand, and SirBenson all joined TheCleaver in having two picks score points.  Super_Realist had just the one scoring pick.

Three players shot 65 to tie for the lowest round of the day.  All three, Rory McIlroy, Kiradech Aphibarnrat, and Camilo Villegas, were picks and Davie had all three of them.  Pedro and Eyetoldyouso both had McIlroy and then added Aphibarnrat and Villegas respectively.  Almost all of the other Fantasy Leaguers picked McIlroy.

The final leg of the Florida swing is also the final event of the 2016 Winter/Spring Session.  120 players tee it up at Arnie's place and Category A has a distinct international feel to it with Brandt Snedeker the highest ranked US player taking part.  However it doesn't bode well for international players as just five editions have resulted in an international win at Bay Hill; four of them taking place in the last ten years.  The most recent was Martin Laird in 2011 and the earliest was Ernie Els in 1998 and Els also won in 2010.  Rory McIlroy is the highest ranked player in the field, Adam Scott tees it up looking to match McIlroy's run of three wins in three starts after triumphing at the Honda and WGC-Cadillac.

Matt Every is the two time defending champion who is also looking to three-peat for the first time since Steve Stricker at the John Deere Classic.  It would also be Every's third PGA Tour win if he manages it.  Tiger Woods has gone back to back three times in three separate runs for eight overall victories.  Loren Roberts was the first to successfully defend a title back in 1995.  All of the prior winners playing are from Category C and include the previously mentioned Martin Laird and Ernie Els.  The others are Vijay Singh, Chad Campbell, Tim Herron, and Robert Gamez who won back in 1990 and has been dining out on that ever since.  Remarkably the only previous winner who wouldn't be in Category C is Phil Mickelson.  Tiger Woods, Rod Pampling, Kenny Perry, Paul Goydos, Ben Crenshaw, and Fred Couples would also be in Category C if they teed it up here.

There are three Categories where you will need pick three players, plus reserve, from each one.  There are bonus points available if you get all of your picks through in any category.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.

This is a full field with cut event, cut points will be available; see above.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:

Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 9 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligible for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply or PM them to me.  Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament.  However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

It could be argued that you finished above Super by virtue of your scoring picks finishing higher than his but that really applies to playoffs for overall win. In this instance you're only ahead of Super on an alphabetical basis.

If you changed the I into a 1 on your user name you would fall second in the alphabetical listing behind me but you would still need some better picks to make the most of that Whistle
