Why is rugby always played on the weekend (for example Pro12, Champions Cup, Challenge Cup, English Premiership)? Why can't we have games on weeknights? There are always football games on weeknights. I don't understand why there are no rugby games on weeknights.

For example, tomorrow night Manchester City are playing Monaco live on BT Sport. Wouldn't it be nice to have a rugby game live on BT Sport during the week?

I'd like to see it but the argument against is probably player welfare and the turnaround time between games.
Granted you'd have a week and a half space between two fixtures but on the other side you would only have half a week.
