Challenge Cup Round Three Empty Re: Challenge Cup Round Three

Post by Fluxy Tue Dec 13, 2016 9:24 pm

Gloucester Rugby 43 - 25 La Rochelle
Gloucester have too much, for a much improved La Rochelle side. La Rochelle will provide a much sterner test in the return game, but the quality from the Cherry & Whites back line, sees them to victory.

Gloucester Rugby 24 - 23 La Rochelle

Gloucester Rugby 46 - 13 La Rochelle
Easy win, wouldn't have a single LR player in the home sides match day 23.

Gloucester Rugby 34 - 18 La Rochelle
They might struggle in the scrum but Gloucester in control pretty much everywhere else for a routine win.

Gloucester Rugby 35 - 17 La Rochelle
Gloucester have too much for the French side in the carrying battle and set piece. With Crotty helping Cips play make and attackers at 9, 10, 13, 14 and 15, Gloucester can basically run riot at times this match

Gloucester Rugby 43 - 20 La Rochelle
La Rochelle doing well in the Top14 this year, but Glos have put out a strong side, difficult to see the French team being able to handle the Glos backs once they get the ball in hand

Gloucester Rugby 36 - 35 La Rochelle

Challenge Cup Round Three Empty Re: Challenge Cup Round Three

Post by Fluxy Tue Dec 13, 2016 9:25 pm

Lyon 21 - 26 Exeter Chiefs
Lyon will exploit Yeandle being played out of position, but once Domingo is restored, Chiefs will start to turn the tide against a rotated Top 14 side. Will be close, but enough for the win, for the visitors.

Lyon 23 - 23 Exeter Chiefs

Lyon 22 - 36 Exeter Chiefs
Hard place to go, but too much quality from Chiefs.

Lyon 21 - 30 Exeter Chiefs
Exeter pretty strong and more than enough for a struggling Lyon, another good win for an AP side.

Lyon 20 - 26 Exeter Chiefs
Chiefs have picked a really hard working pack and it will help them tire and break down a stolid Lyon side. Winning away in France always hard but Lozowski can control the game and the power he has outside him beat up the French side

Lyon 17 - 19 Exeter Chiefs
Exeter have Yeandle out of position, which really hampers them at the scrum. Only the quality in the rest of the side helps overcome the inevitable battering they'll get in the scrum, and they'll squeeze home

Lyon 33 - 34 Exeter Chiefs

Challenge Cup Round Three Empty Re: Challenge Cup Round Three

Post by Fluxy Tue Dec 13, 2016 9:26 pm

Cardiff Blues 23 - 35 Bath Rugby
Despite being short of the internationals, Blues have a very tight unit and with some solid players that will be hard for Bath to breakdown. Bath don't necessarily dominate, but they have too much in reserve for this welsh side.

Cardiff Blues 23 - 24 Bath Rugby

Cardiff Blues 20 - 16 Bath Rugby
Bath don't play their first choice lineup in a lot of areas and Cardiff have a strong side that were very good this weekend.

Cardiff Blues 23 - 25 Bath Rugby
Cardiff not looked great this season but Bath not going in too strong and just scrape through with the win, should have been easier.

Cardiff Blues 14 - 30 Bath Rugby
This doesn't look like a full strength Blues side at all and Bath have an edge in every battle. Wrigglesworth gets a lot out of Russell, and the advantage up front sees the backs get enough dominance of possession win easily

Cardiff Blues 20 - 34 Bath Rugby
Cardiff have some talented players even though they are shorn of their internationals, and can match Bath in the back row. Other than that, Bath dominate the game, and win this one easily

Cardiff Blues 29 - 30 Bath Rugby

Leicester Tigers 25 - 24 Newport Gwent Dragons

Leicester Tigers 28 - 16 Newport Gwent Dragons

Power of Basteraud will be a huge plus, but away side will cause Tigers front row some issues.

Leicester Tigers 36 - 19 Newport Gwent Dragons
Routine win for the home side with little contest in most areas. Lets hope Pape doesn't get involved in any scuffs

Leicester Tigers 40 - 11 Newport Gwent Dragons
Leicester are superior in 1-15, especially like the possibility of that backrow and halfbacks in great form. Beale coming back and playing well in real life also adds vital spark and Tigers dominate this one

Leicester Tigers 36 - 19 Newport Gwent Dragons
Dragons are a poor side, and any team in our league puts them to the sword. Leicester duly oblige

Leicester Tigers 38 - 37 Newport Gwent Dragons

Post by Fluxy Tue Dec 13, 2016 9:28 pm

Timisoara Saracens 12 - 57 Worcester Warriors
Prop is wise to front up and use a big pack to ensure that his side gets the possession it needs to win this game. Warriors have the backs to punish Timisoara, but without the required possession, it would mean nothing. Good away win.

Timisoara Saracens 26 - 27 Worcester Warriors

Timisoara Saracens 8 - 50 Worcester Warriors

Too much in the away side with a big win.

Timisoara Saracens 9 - 35 Worcester Warriors
Not heard of many players for the home side. Can't see anything but a good win for Wuss with them taking control from the off.

Timisoara Saracens 9 - 45 Worcester Warriors
Romania not an easy away game despite the disparity in the sides, but Worcester are strong everywhere and balanced throughout. Don't trust Plisson at 10, love the centres. Easily enough without tactics at length

Timisoara Saracens 10 - 56 Worcester Warriors
Worcester have picked a pack to take on the Romanians, and once they wear them down, will cut them to ribbons in the backs. Easy win

Challenge Cup Round Three Empty Re: Challenge Cup Round Three

Bristol Rugby 31 - 23 Pau Rugby
Not the easiest contest, and Pau can and have been a slippery banana for teams in the Top 14 and Challenge Cup. I do see there being enough physicality and dynamism from the Bristol pack to get the quick ball that CJ's back line craves. Not a runaway win, but a solid victory nonetheless.

Bristol Rugby 25 - 24 Pau

Bristol Rugby 52 - 14 Pau

Bristol a side that can put a lot of points on the board, good halfback combo.

Bristol Rugby 39 - 16 Pau
Bristol have way too much quality on show and will be in control from the off. Easy win for a side on the up.

Bristol Rugby 32 - 20 Pau
Probably the only worthwhile contest this week. Pau will compete up front early doors, but Bristol have plenty of quality in their side, once it gets to their backs they'll get the scores to win the game
