Budgets

One last push on these. I think its nearly impossible for Worcester, Irish or Sale to compete with Sarries, Wasps, Bath and Saints without more of a budget.

Gloucester, Irish, Newcastle and Worcester have no EQ quality looking at the current squads - big challenge in that alone

Look at it this way, each side has the potential of a number of top class players:

Irish - 6
Worcester - 7
Newcastle - 5
Gloucester - 4

It's easier to give extra budget than it is to take away at a later date. If it's obvious a side hasn't had enough, Flux can adjust as needed. Potential Gloucester side for example:

6. Moriarty
7. Hooper*
8. Morgan

10. Williams
11. Sharples

That's a bloody good side with 7 EQ.

I guess it's up to the manager to mould his team and it's certainly more exciting/more of a challenge having a weaker side with a bigger budget.

Once you start getting top draw players in then sides with smaller budgets will lose their EQ for deals with WC players. It's part of the game.

That's on the basis that Retallick would cost £20m .. which I can't see happening

Glos maybe a bad example as I'd forgotten they have the likes of Ruskin/Morgan/Slater

Look at Wuss/Irish - is there a single EQ player outside of Teo you'd be wanting to start

Well if you don't get Retallick you go for similar, it was just an example. Sides will obviously have more than their budget after releasing players also.

You go for a Reatallick and maybe you can't get Hooper, maybe you get Warburton? You see what I mean?

I'm unconvinced but we'll see how it plays out I guess

We'll see how it goes .. the sides with EQ aren't going to let them go unless its the very top foreign players coming back in my experience
