E-Coli in Hamburg

GB Rowing team pull out of World Cup meeting in Hamburg.


With the Wladimir Klitschko v David Haye fight in Hamburg in July 2nd, is there any threat/chance that the E-Coli outbreak could scupper the fight going ahead? My thoughts are that it would have to take a dramatic upturn for it to happen, but if it got worse would the fight still go ahead?

And have there been any instances of this sort of thing causing fights to be cancelled before?

Maybe they could hold the fight in Yorkshire, they 'd be perfectly safe as no-one eats salad over here.

Those that do eat salad, well they boil it first to kill any germs!

Not strictly true Dave we do eat the odd salad, as long as it is on top of a kebab

Perhaps if everything was smothered in chilli sauce over there, they could eradicate this menace in a (cholesterol clogged) heartbeat.

this e-coli thing is a load of rubbish. add it to the sars virus, foot and mouth, swine flu, bird flu and any other disease the media latches onto and calls "an epidemic". 21 people have died in the whole of germany, that averages out to less that 2 people per month. at lot of other diseases kill more people than that, and a lot of diseases about at the moment evolve to be immune to our drugs, but as soon as the media hear about it they make a massive deal about it and everyone panics.

21 people have died since the outbreak began, which was late May, so that's two weeks ago, so that works out at 42 people per month.

Using your logic you could say that 6 million Jews died in the holocaust but over the duration of human history (approx 500,000 years) that's only about 12 a year, or 1 a month, so what is all the fuss about?

no if you count the cases up over the last year there is 21. average that out.

Silly me - I thought it was Stomach Ulcers! Haha! Good ol D4!

Gotta say boys that, having visited the Reeperbahn a couple of times, I'm amazed there hasn't been an E-Coli outbreak LONG before now!

If I was Haye, I'd bring everything over.

Food, water, I wouldn't even clean my teeth with the German water.

Nothing should be taken to chance.
