So Wilder goes in against Ortiz again after their first fight - which he very nearly lost (saved by the bell). Ortiz had punched himself out by the end of the next round and then it was only a matter of time before Wilder finished him. Will it be the same again this time? Wilder struggling a bit with a wily southpaw, or will he want to prove a point?

Ortiz says he has something different, so presumably this means a faster start from him and steady pressure with the occasional bomb, whilst making Wilder miss and clinch. This time, though, Ortiz knows he can't give Wilder any chances as it did not end well for him. It's doubtful that Ortiz has the stamina to keep the pressure on Wilder for most of each round, so unless he can pull something amazing out of the bag, it has to be Wilder's fight.

I would though love to see the look on Wilder's face after being chinned and counted out.

Well what can you say after watching Wilder's latest fight? He can't box that's evident, but what he can do is bang. We've always known that but the Ortiz fight showed how you can never write a puncher off. Just when it looked like Ortiz was cruising to at least a points win, bang! and he was being counted out. Maybe he could have recovered in the interval but wasn't given the chance. I think Fury will delay the rematch as long as he can and keep on making easy money elsewhere.

It was a massive shot. That power certainly is a game-changer, but as soon as he fights anyone with a chin who can box a bit, he's had it. Vitali would have given him all sorts of issues!

Still, we keep saying he can't box, crap footwork etc, but he's won all but 1, and has knocked out everyone he's faced bar Fury and except for incredible recuperative powers of TF, it would've been all of them. Someone's going to chin him one day though...

This fawning over Wilder is a bit too much, there's no doubting he's got one punch power but he's now being elevated above the likes of Tyson and Foreman which is absurd.

Who's fawning over Wilder? I've not really seen anything of the sort.

What people have been saying is that as long as he's still standing, he's still in with a decent chance... he's always waiting for that opportunity to detonate...

Sorry, I meant purely his punch power. Until he's obliterating someone like Joe Frazier or knocking Chuvalo around the ring it's a bit much.

He can only beat who's in front of him. He all but KO'd Fury, and Ruiz Jr has proven Wilder would have the power to stop Joshua. Joshua stopped Wlad, so Wilder probably would have been able to as well (power wise, not necessarily skill wise). It's hard to compare generations but he has to be talked about as the hardest Heavyweight puncher of his generation.

Of his generation yes but it's not yet taken someone out with a proven iron chin so to compare across generations it's a bit silly and that's what the comments by Bunce and others were about.

I've only seen one person claiming he's the hardest puncher of all time, and that's Wilder himself. Who else is making this claim?
