Mike Slemen Dies Aged 69

Sad news today the Mike Slemen has died. Capped 31 times by England and also a B&I Lion on the 1980 tour.

Nothing said about how or what caused his premature death (only 3 years older than me, so hope it's considered premature).

I can remember watching him, he was a classic winger, all about speed and had a brilliant side step and swerve.

He was a hell of a player, I remember him well.

Scored the winning try when the north beat the ABs if I remember, that side became the basis of the 1980 England Grand Slam team, so many good players.
