For every meeting chosen each event will be predicted upon. You will have to predict 1-2-3. You can also predict for a WR.

Scoring
Correctly predict 1st: 20 points
Correctly predict 2nd: 15 points
Correctly predict 3rd: 10 points
Correctly predict 1-2-3: 75 points
Correctly pick top 3 athlete but wrong position: 5 points
Correctly predict World Record: 20 points
Incorrectly predict World Record: -10 points

During the World Championships the scoring will be done differently and will be confirmed nearer to the time.

Bit of a shame only two predictions so far

all the arguements over the past few days has probably just people off....just makes it easier for me to win

Guess its just me + you. If we receive this poor of a showing next week I will cease running it

Its a nice idea but really too much work for me.
These predictions work for other sports due to the limted number of predictions to make. ie The boxing forum has one but it only does the big half a dozen fights per week. The match ups are shown and its quite simple and not too time consuming.
For this one we need to know all the competitors (not just 2) and a cross a whole range of events - and most of the competetors are comletely unknown.
I think the format works for World Champs and Olympics but else unless you are a real athletics geek it won't for other events.
What might make thing easier for other events is to do a series of head to head for the most popular atheletes and events, they dont even have to win the race/event just the head to head. ie pick the winner in next weeks races/events between.
Gay and Bolt,
Meadows and Semenya,
Spiegelburger and Feafanova,
Ohurogu and Sanders (race may have been won by Richards with Felix 2nd)
it doesnt really matter.
