While activities at Bedford dominate the domestic scene, there are senior British athletes competing elsewhere, most notably the Cottbus meeting in Germany.

So far Goldie Sayers has finished 2nd behind home favourite Katharina Molitor in the Javelin with 62.91, and Jeanette Kwakye has returned to form with 11.29 to win the 100m (this moves her to 2nd in the UK rankings). Tyrone Edgar's season has finally got going, setting 10.43 in finishing 5th in the 100m. No Brits involved in the men's 1500, but this was won with a handy 3:33.84 by Moroccan Iguider Abdelaati. Kelly Sotherton won the 400m with a season's best 52:51.

Kwakye's 11.29s is very good actually...

Hopefully, this will give her the confidence and momentum to help her return to form/previous best...

A few Brits were also in action at the Szczecin meeting in Poland yesterday. Marlon Devonish clocked a respectable 10.28 for 3rd in the 100m, it looks like Will Sharman clocked 13.68 in both the heat and the final of the 110m hurdles. Rob Tobin won the 400m with 45.72, beating Andrew Steele who posted 46.29 in coming 4th. Other highlights were a high quality Discus comp won by Peter Malachowski with 68.49m, and the Shot, which was won by Thomas Majewski with 21.25m - something for the home fans to cheer about.
