Napoleon Dynamite or ET

For several years a battle has raged on.
Since I started chatting with Hobo we've had an ongoing feud as to which is the better film.
ET or Napoleon Dynamite.
Basically we both think the other persons choice is frankly a bit pants.

So I ask you the v2 collective to finally decide.

Napolean Dynamite sucked!

It may be that I was expecting much more because of the hype that it generated...but it really was poor.

I'll third Chucks answer. Both are hyped up too much (like Avatar) On the other hand ET is at least watchable. NP, however, is used to torture people in secret bunkers with clock work orange type seats to make sure you watch. I would have voted for ET if the poll would let me

I didn't see an ET one either as I'd have rather trapped my nether regions in a drawer and slam them shut repeatedly for the hour it was on, ironically afterwards my bits would have ended up looking rather similar to your fave alien.

30 years, still feels like yesterday when I was duped into watching that drivel at the cinema.

ET for me, I watched with my kids recently and in twenty years I feel they will watch it with there own kids and it will have the same impact. Napoleons Dynamite is the wife's favourite film and I have seen it about 30 times, but I just don't get it. It's not that funny it's just quirky.

ET for me as well.

Napoleon Dynamite is an absolute turd in a birdbath in my arrogant opinion. Tries too hard to be quirky & ends up being total pants, the only moment I even smiled was when he told that girl she had big hair.

ET is not very good, way too mawkish, but does have a certain charm & I'd place it way higher than Napoleon Dynamite.

if i could still vote mine would have gone to ET, childhood classic

I've seen both enough times to be happy to never see them again but ET is the better film.

NP left me cold and flummoxed.

Just didn't get it.

Plus ET showed us Gayle from Corrie's full dramatic range in her first starring role.

It has to be ET , i still watch it every time it's on the tv
