Cricket World Cup: Mumbai and Kolkata will host matches
Mumbai and Kolkata cricket grounds have been cleared to host World Cup matches.
There were doubts the stadiums would be ready in time for the tournament, which starts on 19 February.
But International Cricket Council chief executive Haroon Lorgat said: "Those venues have all been squared off, they're ready."
However, the delay meant the India-England match had to be switched from Kolkata to Bangalore. Mumbai will host two group games and the 2 April final.
While the iconic Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata has now received the green light, the fact that the India-England group game on 27 February had to be moved will have been a major setback.
The match was the most prestigious of those which had been scheduled for the venue, but it will remain host for Ireland v South Africa (15 March), Ireland v Netherlands (18 March) and Kenya v Zimbabwe (20 March).
"We felt they [Kolkata] would not be ready by 27 February but they had every opportunity to be ready for the matches [there] in March and we've got to the point now when all of the venues are going to be ready for the games scheduled," added Lorgat.
"Mumbai [Wankhede stadium] made fabulous progress post the initial delays, the initial concerns, that were experienced back in December and when we came for that inspection in January we were satisfied with the progress.
"So there isn't an issue about readiness of the stadiums."

Is this good news or not or do you think the stadiums are not good enough for World Cup matches?

Its just typical of India really, they never seem to have anything finished until the last minute. This doesnt mean the stadiums are bad, just finished too late.
