The Open Competition - Final Leaderboard

Well done to Yadsendew, who quite easily held onto his lead thanks to Phil Mickelson's round of 68, to win the The Open Competition. He was the only person to finish under par courtesy of Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Sergio Garcia and won comfortably in the end by eight shots.

EJ4 came second with sodhat third. boyhyde and MustPuttBetter also deserve a mention for finishing in the top ten for the second successive competition.

nixonuae, EmmDee57, WillyGilly, princedracula, Eyetoldyouso, Kwinigolfer, Hogie, sirbenson, Tony B Liar, Pervypinseeker, Doon The Water, Bluecoverman, golfermartin, Nay Bother, oldparwin, danmanlive, Davie, legenkillar, Sway, Faldono1fan and Tiler76 all failed to get atleast three of their selections through to the final two rounds and therefore haven't made the 'cut'.

How could the European leading lights let us down so badly?

After an awful backwards slide, the rotten weather over the next 36 holes might just bring my selections back into the mix. I can see a lot of players dropping away today. Good scramblers like Schwarzel and Kaymer, Mickelson and DJ should come to the fore over the weekend.

Three of my four to make the cut were rotten today. Ah, well, still did better than many.

Ryan only one of mine made the cut, and one pulled out before the first round!

I wonder what odds I would have got that last years US Open Champion, a three times major winner and the world numbers 1 and 2 would all fail to make the cut?...

My first Major!

I knew all that hard work and practice would pay out in the end

Thanks for organising and running the competition

Unfortunately, I was a bit too distracted to select my picks by the deadline this time. My schtick for this major was going to be to pick Westwood (or less likely Donald, but didn't make any difference in the end!) and then 5 less fancied English players... Would have gone for Chris Wood if he'd qualified, but then failed to settle on an alternate when he didn't.

Given the halfway stage carnage, I was pleasantly surprised to find I probably would have just about made the cut (via Dyson, Rock & Casey; the final and darkest of my dark horses [Willett] didn't manage to reach the weekend), but certainly not challenging our leaders.
