Khan for me edges ahead due to the conduct of both fighters lately as I have a hard time splitting their records.

I know this is probably old news but the fact that he says he will only fight once more at LWW is a bit disappointing.

I don't like Khan but I rate him above Bradley. You shouldn't be top of your division if you haven't fought in 6 months, have just been stripped by a major organisation and have no obvious fight on the horizon.

For me, it's Khan, and I think Bradley knows it too. Why else would he turn down by far the biggest pay day of his career?

Re: Who is the man at 140?
Going by the letter of the law, it's Bradley. However, I've taken this as a purely subjective question, so while Bradley might have the 'man who beat the man' tag, Khan is the best boxer at 140 lb in my opinion and as such, he gets my vote. Very little between them, but for me Khan has developed in to the more complete package and would have the beating of Bradley if they ever meet. His recent performances, by large, have blown Bradley's out of the water.
Khan is top dog at Light-Welterweight I reckon, but Bradley is only a step behind and I have no problems with anyone who places him at the summit, either.

Re: Who is the man at 140?
I'd agree with that Chris, whilst I think that Khan is the better and more skilled of the two, I would feel much more comfortable about him moving up to Welterweight if he had beaten Bradley at Light-Welter to settle that particular score beforehand.
As you say, Bradley is the man that beat the man (Devon Alexander), and as such will be regarded by some as being the best until Khan proves otherwise, which I have no qualms with. I'll be disappointed if Khan moves on without having fought Bradley, but it really wouldn't surprise me given how boxing has been in recent years.
Bradley would do wonders for Khan's record and legacy.

Where has this theory come from that Alexander was the man come from, he wasn't?

Re: Who is the man at 140?
If you hark back to the months leading up to that fight there were a number of experts touting Alexander as the best of the big 3 at Light-Welter (Khan, Bradley and Alexander). He was a belt holder, and whilst not necessarily being the man, it was that fight that was to distinguish who the #1 was in that division.
As it turns out, Devon has been on a poor run of form of late, and whether that is due to him being a hype job, or for other reasons, is a story for another day. He was extremely disappointing against Bradley.

Re: Who is the man at 140?
Not really he was ranked at number 3 in the division after the shocking decision he got over Kotelnik.

Maybe not 'the man' so to speak, but he, Khan and Bradley were considered the 'big three' of the division once it became clear that Pacquiao had no intention of settling at 140 lb. As it stands, Bradley is the only one of those three who has scored a win over another, and so he generally became accepted as the best man at Light-Welterweight due to that - and in fairness, his claim was made massively better. Had this poll been done straight after that, I reckon Bradley wins it by a landslide. But since then, Alexander has flattered to deceive, Khan has taken another portion of the 140 lb title and looked brilliant in doing so, and Bradley (seemingly) has put the stoppers on a potential show down between the two.
As I said, there's not much in it. Bradley had that top dog recognition and I suppose it's fair to say that he keeps it until someone beats him or he moves up to Welterweight, but Khan is surely the better all-round fighter, seems to be getting better with each outing (the McCloskey fight aside) and is the talk of the division, whereas people are beginning to wonder where Bradley is hiding with regards to their much-hyped clash.

Re: Who is the man at 140?
In short, that fight simply has to happen, or there will be some disappointed boxing fans, and it may end up detracting from both of their legacies when all is said and done.
Re: Who is the man at 140?
I at the time considered it a big 4 with Maidana included who has since displaced Alexander as the 3rd ranked fighter in the division, in my opinion you're only beating the man when he holds the lineal title like Hatton or you're ranked number one and beat number two much like Wladimir against Chagaev.

Re: Who is the man at 140?
Personally I see the Kotelnik win pretty much just as impressive as Bradleys Alexander one... If not more so, Kotelnik to me was realy unlucky in losing that fight I could have made a strong case of 8 rounds to 4 but saw it as a very solid 7 rounds 5 to Kotelnik when him and Alexander fought. Never really rated Alexander THAT highly really and think Maidana would beat him aswell.
