Just had a thought. It seems a tad strange that Stephen Jones had to pull out at the 11th hour..
Heres my thinking. There was no injury, or risk of it.
Gatland just wanted to get a good look at Preistland at 10, however didn't want all the media pressure to get to him. So together they hatch this cunning little plan..
Anyone see some logic in this?

I would worry more about Gatlands mindset if that idea was even a possibility.

I doubt it very much as it left Wales with no cover on the bench.

I know, no one would ever suspect him of doing that to his own team.

Yes, you would be right "NO ONE" would ever suspect him of doing that to his own team....Just like No one suspected Dean Richards would do anything like what he did in the Blood Gate scandal.(difference is Richards got found out).

That was actually the first thought that went through my mind when it was announced. I have been calling for Priestland at 10 for ages and I certainly think he would be the best man to start there. Shame though because he's almost a certainty at FB now.

It's surprising the number of people I have spoken to over the last day who also think Steven Jones was under orders to pull out in order for Priestland to play at 10 -

I'd go one better than this and wonder whether Stevo bottled it..(tongue firmly wedged in cheek here).......... Whistle
