If Wales make the final will they go on to win it?

Should Wales beat France tomorrow I actually think that even though it's a WC final on NZ soil it would still be Wales's best chance of beating them in 58 years.

No Carter
No Muliaina
Dodgy McCaw

New Zealand could now be paying big time for spending nearly a decade building a team around TWO men and making the roles of these two players so important. Personally I never believed that a 10 "controlled" the game or was the main cog in any rugby team. All players must play equally well and that is what Wales have done so far. Too much focus and responsibility on one or two positions in a TEAM game has caused teams to fail in the past.

Of course this is all hypothetical as New Zealand may not even beat Australia who are sure to make the most of the get out of jail free card they won against South Africa.

NZ have played well but haven't faced an actual test yet and looked rusty for long periods against Argentina. If it is a NZ v Wales final it will probably be one of the best finals ever, but I doubt anything will be as dramatic and fairytale as the 2003 final.

Nothing like bending over and inviting fate to help themselves!

Can we at least keep this stuff until after the semi?

NZ hasnt faced a test yet?
Half the posters here were predicting france to knock us in the pool match.
They certainly werent saying "France wont test NZ"
Now we dispatch them fairly easily suddenly they werent a test?
And NZ looked rusty in beating argie by 23?
How exactly?.
No one took argie apart and all took ages to break their defences.
Understand the point. Just not the reasoning behind it.

A trifle premature maybe,Wales did`nt exactly thrash a rusty Argentina pre -RWC.
A two man team?McCaw on one foot is better than most 7`s around, the back row as a unit arguably the world`s best.
A very solid pack, excellent backs yes, certainly a two man side.
