West Tigers assistant coach Peter Gentle and his manager were apparantly at tonights game between Bradford Bulls and Hull KR at Odsal stadium . Gentle has previously expressed his desire to succeed Justin Morgan as Hull KR coach from next season .

Doesn't look like it'll happen sorry:

Hull Kingston Rovers have ruled out Australia and Wests Tigers assistant boss Peter Gentle as their new coach.

Current coach Justin Morgan will leave the club after six years in charge but chairman Neil Hudgell says his replacement will not be Gentle.

"I'll make an exception as I said I wouldn't comment on any specific name," Hudgell told BBC Radio Humberside.

"But I can categorically say that Peter Gentle won't be the next coach of Hull Kingston Rovers."

I have just spoken with a friend who helps coach Rovers academy and he says Hudgell had a meeting with Gentle on saturday and further talks yesterday , can only assume after Hudgell's statement that they couldn't come to terms ? .

That's what i'm guessing, especially seeing as he was at the match. Must have been quite a way apart with the deal with the quote: categorically say that he won't be the next coach of Hull K.R!!

I would guess that the imports at Rovers would be on more money than the average Rovers British player. so if it is the case he won't spend extra money on a Aussie coach why spend extra money on overseas players?
in my eyes its better coaches who make better players, not better players make better coaches.
