Steve Walsh - Referee of The Year

Well congratulations to Steve Walsh for picking up the referee of the year tag from his adopted home union.

He has consistently set the benchmark for referees, and will undoubtably go down as the greatest referee of all time. He should be a shoe in to replace POB in the comfy chair when he becomes too decrepit to run around in shorts.

I sincerely hope that the IRB would see sense, and even in the event of an All Blacks v Wallabies RWC final that Steve Walsh would be picked to be the man with the whistle.

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha, From his own union, well doesn't that say it all. The mans as much of a joke for impartiality as Mccaw is to the offside rule!! Priceless!!

It might be because he manged to go a whole year without being suspended (the last one following a review of his performance for the Waratahs v Brumbies match) and Australia's only other option was Stuart Dickinson. Aside from being their only WC referee, the Aussies probably also like his attitude to his home country:

"I don't really see myself going back to New Zealand."

"Most New Zealanders drink to get drunk – and we get aggressive. We're a little immature."

Absolutely laughable.
