Halling or Reynolds??

Simple really...who do you prefer?

Personally I miss Halling...I think the fact he has been there since I started following about 4 years ago means I learnt a lot from him but the new guy seems to know his stuff. Would love to see his reaction at the demise of his Terrible Towel team haha.

Also...is it me or is Kevin Cadle permanently stoned??

Not really watched that much with Halling on the show, but Reynolds bored me slightly seemed to be repeating pretty much the same thing quite a lot. Cecil Martin on the other hand was great, liked him using the analysis to teach people about the game.

Tbh I wasn't a big fan of the Sky team.

That's a hard choice at the moment there's not a lot between them

Reynolds is a very good NFL writer, he just doesn't have the persona for TV in my opinion, he's just not American enough whereas Halling had that subtle mix of English accent with US terminology that works. He was part of the furniture, part of the original Sky team and has been for what 16/17 years ?
Maybe I'm just one of lifes old gits that doesn't like change a great deal....

For someone who has played the game and supposedly been following the NFL for close to 30 years what Neil Reynolds adds in terms of analysis, or just anything, is shockingly bad. Still at least he wasn’t as annoying as Danny Kelly was on the C4 coverage.

I agree Grizz although it wasn't perfect I don't understand the need for the change up unless it was something that Halling instigated.

Ah well I think Reynolds will settle in pretty quickly and bring in the insight into the sport to viewers old and new.

Certainly I like Cecil...the panel needs a character in there to bring a sense of excitement and enthusiasm into the studio.

Anyone catch the C4 coverage...had half my team tweeting get that obese man outta there!

Cecil is now everything to the show, lose him and you lose everything.
Kev is great but he is the compere not the analyst.
From what I heard it was Halling who left, he's fronting Skys boxing coverage apparently.

I love it when Reinbold comes on, he's by far the most insightful guest they have.

Redzone is so much better. No adverts and no waffling from Cadle etc.

OK, on the one hand I'd like to see Martin and Rheinbold as the analysts, maybe with Reynolds hosting. But it won't happen as SKY don't have the money to bring in Rheinbold especially as he's coaching again full time. I don't dislike Cadle per se, but he is sooooooo sloooooowwww it takes away any impetus from the game when they cut back to him. He's knowledgeable but just not a natural presenter. Listen to the American network commentators and studio presenters, especially on the radio, and there's a zip to their presentation (well with the exception of Joe Buck). If Sky want their studio team to attract more viewers, they need to avoid putting viewers to sleep!

PS anyone know what is going on with NFL TA? Not seen it on the schedule for a couple of weeks. I know there's talk we don't get Gameday because of the advertising, but I thought they'd sorted out showing TA on Sky. Rich Eisen is excellent, and Neon may be an a$$ but he's fun in the studio.

On the Packers/Saints game they said it was going to be on 3/4 times a week.

I need to get onto TVGuide. I had TA on my planner and it just disappeared, and browsing through the on screen guide I couldn't; see it listed. Ho hum.

Not a fan of Reynolds to be honest. Think I'm a bit like Grizzly on this one - I like what I'm used to. Went right off Reynolds though when he tried to make a joke about how the Redskins must have been doing extra practices cos Rex Grossman had obviously had too many hits on the head cos he predicted that the Skins would win the NFC East. Might have been funny if he had delivered it well but he made it sound so contrived like he'd heard someone else say it and thought he'd try and repeat it. Plus, I didn't appreciate him insulting my team

Halling wasn't perfect but I'd take him over Reynolds any day.
