Cool, Hooky can cover loosehead

Hook can play everywhere

Didn't SJ give away an interception against Namibia?

Yes and he threw a couple of forward passes, but it was his first game for a longtime so he was bound to be a bit rusty.

We can beat Namibia and they last game before that Wales won with S Jones at 10 was Italy, that says it all for me and even against Italy Hook was involved with two tries and kicked the winning drop goal. If we pick Jones we are likely to be in the third forth play off.

Alyn:

That is the reason I call him Teflon, if it was Hook many on here would not give him the benefit of the doubt. Let's face it Preistland was lucky in the last game he was charged down, his up and under nearly lead to a try from Ireland and he missed touch from a penalty and followed up with another missed touch. The benefit of Preistland over Jones he kicks it further than 20m and has some speed!

Reckon we could amputate one of Wellies shoulders onto Priestland for the game?
Hooks tend to be a bit iffy anyway. laughing

I put this info on another thread, but it will have a bearing here on the choice at 10.
In the last game for these sides, france, ireland and england all had between 10/11 offloads, WALES HAD 0 OFF LOADS AGAINST IRELAND.
THIS IS THE WAY WE ARE PLAYING, GOOD FORWARD PLATFORM RUGBY no flinging, miracle passes needed.
they call rpriestland sjones mark2, he's learned his craft at the scarlets.
HE IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PLAYER TO HOOK.
The passing rugby has come from a solid platform. It is not running, passing without structure. Has to be SJones if rhys is out.

I hope Rhys is in, but sjones is an older version of rhys ,as is rhys a younger version of sjones. Hook does not get the back line going, hook gets hook going.

France would want hook there, mainly because he's never been a success long term at 10, sjones has.

Jeez will Hook never be allowed to forget his French charge down? And as for interceptions Steven Jones has thrown a fair few of those as well and had kicks charged down - selective memories. . Hook played a blinder against Ireland in the Six Nations, the best I've seen him play, out O'Gara-ing O'Gara, kicking low and long, finding touch and making the Irish work their way back up field

Simply for continuity I hope Priestland plays but if some of his high kicks go wayward and he gets a kick charged down or doesn't find touch in this game the French won't be so slow to take advantaget as Irelend were. Whoever plays I wish the team the best of luck and win or lose they can hold their heads up high and done our nation proud.

My fear is that Roberts will have the French midfield up on him by the time Hook decides to give him the ball. But Hook's goalkicking could be crucial on Saturday and if he gets the ball in broken play he can be a match-winner. Let's get behind him!
