Dave Paris is a Joke

117-112 in favour of Cleverly? I'm no Bellew fan, but he fought well and it was a close fight. I had it 115-114 to cleverly, but there's no way on earth he won it by 5 rounds. Seems every time Paris scores a fight he is way off of everyone elses thinking, including that of his fellow judges.

i thought bellew won at least 5 rounds, and there were about 3 close rounds that could've gone either way but as cleverley is the champ he would've been given those so can't really argue with a score in the region of edwards or o'connors scorecards but dave parris is a joke

Off the top of my head, I can't think of a better domestic fight this year

I had it 5 rounds apiece with the 10th a draw, totally level going into the 12th which cleverly won comfortably.

Was very surprised at how well bellew boxed and happy to admit he has changed my opinion on him with that performance. Bellew did his best work in the first 5 rounds but couldn't match cleverlys work rate and fitness over the distance. Cleverly boxed more intelligently than in some of his recent fights, and has to be said he has a very solid chin.

Good entertaining fight, thoroughly enjoyed it. The right decision, but as always with Paris you're left wondering what fight he was watching.

Dave Parris is corrupt, I'd put all my money on that.

draw for me but cant argue but 117 was too much i believe he was the one who had poor scoring on cunningham fight recently too

I'll happily state here and now that my opinion on Bellew has swung in his favour by a substantial measure. Good luck to him. Dave sweaty fat man Parris is a mammary gland.

Shameful scoring by Paris its about time clowns like him were called to account for such inept scoring.

Paris is that bent he'd make Roger Tilleman blush.

British boxing judging is now on par with it's German counterpart.

thought bellew was fantastic tonight and really won me over he had the better jab who expected that?
bellew lost it in the championship rounds to someone who was more experhenced at that level no shame in that. he gassed slightly at the end but he has bags of heart never stopped trying and was very graceful in defeat and was in tears at the end.

Bellew was much better than I expected. I had it a draw, but felt that Cleverly had won if that makes sense. Equal on points, but Cleverly winning the fight. No argument with result itself, but unfathomable score card. No way it was that wide.

I agree, British boxing seems to suffering from poor quality judging and refereeing over the last number of years. Terry O'Connor, Ian John Lewis, Dave Paris etc all seem to be very mistake prone and consistently throw up rather unusual cards.

Requires a clean up and some of our refs being sent over to the states to gather some experience. Unfortunately to do that you need a ton of other things - like complete world boxing order like fifa. Or perhaps at the very most two - so corruption doesnt set in.

Well done Bellew, he proved many of us here (including me) wrong. He showed his boxing skills and his power. Very gracious in defeat and I for one am now a fan.

Thought Bellew was very good worked well behind his jab clear gameplan would have won if he hadn't gassed in my opinion as well, didn't blow the tank when he could have, cleverly had very good head movement and was able to move away from the shots.

I think Dave Paris filled his scorecard in before the fight, probably in the pub.

Like Scott said above it would not be surprise to find out Dave Paris is corrupt. This happens a lot especially involving Warren fighters he tends to be very generous.

bit harsh to assume he is corrupt without actual proof but he is a bit suspect with his point scoring at times that i cant deny.

Didn't Dave Paris give a similarly bad score for Fury v's McMuffin?

Either way, I had it as a draw, but can see why Cleverly got it, but 5 rounds? give over?
