2011/2012 606v2 Winter Eclectic - Rules and entries

After much deliberation the rules have been finalised.


1) The format is to be an eclectic strokeplay over a maximum of 8 rounds to be taken before March 31st 2011.

2) For the first card, I will need either a scan, photo or detailed spreadsheet score card giving your score, Par for each hole, the SI, SSS and your handicap, via email.
PM me or send email and I will reply confirming email if necessary

3) DNF’s on the first card will count as 9, after the first card, I will just need the hole numbers where you have bettered your previous score, and of course the score.

4) If you do not keep a tally yourself, then each round will need a full scorecard.

5) ¾ handicap rounded up from 0.5. There will be no handicap adjustment unless you appear to be a complete bandit and have manipulated your handicap.

6) Par and SSS ratings for courses will undergo an entirely scientific process to equalize any differences. I will not make this up as I go along, I promise

7) Your rounds can be bounce or competition, it is totally up to you. Just have to nominate it prior to playing. Email, PM or post to the Eclectic thread.

8) I will post any results onto the board, hopefully weekly, so all can see what they have to do to make up places.

9) Gimmies – I know some of you never play gimmies whereas others do and the groups they play in expect it. Play the round as you would normally, but I would suggest that if you are putting to better your previous score on that hole, then the ball needs to drop

10) Start date is…………..The day after Remembrance Sunday. Monday 14th November.

11) Hopefully these are all the rules we need for you to enjoy yourselves. Remember, this is supposed to be just a bit of fun, and hopefully it will get exciting at some stage. However I am the judge, jury, executioner, cook, cleaner, slow poster and other choice words and phrases so what I determine goes.

Great stuff 1GG - let the fun begin and thanks for taking this on - will be a thankless task I'm sure once the banter begins! You have my admiration though

I almost wish I could have included my "3 clubs and a putter" round from yesterday as a nominated round - though I've scored more stableford points this year (some great holes plus "blobs") the 3 coubs round actually ended up with one of my better medal rounds of the year with no nightmare holes and some pars on holes I normally struggle with using a full set of clubs!

Davie, you could always try the 3 clubs thing at another time for poopies and giggles. The limited options probably made you concentrate more on the smart play than just grabbing a club and hitting a shot.

Because I was a bit of a plonker I didn't make this rule very clear. Information needed also includes the par for each hole. This makes it easier on the spreadsheet.

If you have already sent me this information, good stuff, you answered the question I wanted you to answer rather than the one I asked.

If you haven't supplied it then I probably have already asked you for it so thank you for your patience.

For the slowcoaches please supply this information too. Rule will be updated in OP

Never know when the snow will come....

IF I have all the information in from CURRENT entrants by FRIDAY, everyone can start on Saturday.

However, if the slowcoaches don't make it before then, tough, everyone can start from Monday.

Sunday start for me please!

I'd love to start tomorrow but as it's my first EVER foursomes match I don't think I'll get away with it

Potentially two rounds for me next weekend though!

If i don't get 18 in before it's dark presumably that's not a problem as it's an eclectic anyway, just my disadvantage for having played one of my 8 and having missed a crack at the last 3 or 4. Let me know if that's an issue

How copulating organised is Merc?? Everything planned out already.

MPB if you start and don't finish it only hurts your chances but it is over 8 rounds. We're trusting folks so you don't have to get it signed.
