Monaco or Nalbandian
First topic message reminder :
The Argentina's Davis Cup coach doesn't have an easy task on his hand, having to choose between Monaco and Nalbandian: one being the in-form player right now, the other a lot classier, but certainly past his peak.
Looks like Agentinians' hopes are all in the hands of Juan Martin Del Potro , who ,for tomorrow, may have what it takes to win his match against Ferrer, keeping this final alive.
Difficult instead to see Monaco succeed against Nadal, on the Spanish soil; for this kind of miracle matches, maybe, Nalby was the more appropriate man to pick.

not for three days in a row.

Why would it be 3 days in a row would he have to play doubles as well?

Nadal did not look as tired as expected.
Perhaps, the 'great' JMdP' (Marcus - you there?) can put up a better show than the Valencia HC finalist and the Paris QFinalist.

It would be monumental for Delpo to win this match.

Re: Monaco or Nalbandian
Perhaps poor Pico was tired - Neil Harman in an article entitled 'Argentinians riled at rude awakening by drug testers' today in The Times:
The drug testers came knocking on the hotel bedroom doors of the Argentinian Davis Cup Team at 6.30 yesterday morning in Seville, which is more than a little extreme even for a nation whose history in this respect is tainted to say the least.
Tito Vazquez, the captain who once worked for the LTA was appalled at the insensitivity of the timing of the officials employed by the ITF, under whose auspices the competition is run. And why did they single out the Argentinians? Were they concerned that picking on the Spain team might have led to a diplomatic incident on the eve of a prestigious final? Imagine Rafael Nadal's rage had he been roused from his bed at such an hour at such a defining time in the year.
"It could have been done at another moment but it is not up to us to decide" Vazquez said, although his face betrayed a sense of astonishment that left no one in doubt what his team thought about how they had been treated.'
Bit unfair on poor Delpo, Fat Dave, Pico and Co
(by the by, Harman being just a little less deferential towards Rafa of late - I thought at the time that the curious incident of the journalist and the tale of the hairline fracture just might result in Harman just distancing himself a little)

Note even that USO final. he woke up once he realised he was cooked. That's not what I call strong mentally.

When Ferrer says he is extremely tired....what does he mean? He runs longer and as fast as in the beginning of the season.

Looks like Argentina will win the Davis Cup.
C'mon Del Potro.
Imagine Del Potro having a year like Nole 2011 in 2012 after winning the Davis Cup like Nole did.

Seriously, I am asking. What does Ferrer mean when saying he is tired? He runs right and left like it's the first set of the Australian open!

If Nalbandian wants to win DC, he will have to win his doubles first.

Ferrer shows why he's so tough to beat these days, he hung in really well and kept fighting. Spanish school...
Great match...hard to see Spain losing DC now - the last team to recover from a 2-0 deficit in a DC final was Australia in 1939!

Even on HC @WTF, he was 2-1. Absolutely tenacious and IMVHO, a fantastic asset to the Spanish DC team. :hatoff: Ferrer the Terrier.

Ha ha! Have just been reading through this thread. You two are like a double act. My guess is that you both love Nadal really...

Del Boy rules, yea its shame he lost, but Ferrer is on skyhigh form and on clay he is even more solid, Its difficult for Argentina to win DC with just one player.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in the doubles, this should be tougher for Spain to win.
