Tri-series

India have announced their squad for the one-day tri series which takes place after the current test series.

The series included aussies and sri lanka...

this is the indian squad:

M. S. Dhoni (c), Virender Sehwag (v-c), Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Manoj Tiwary, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rahul Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Praveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, Parthiv Patel.

Aww I was hoping theyd drop Dravid in it just to pee him off again.

good to see Rahul shamra in there again, he had a very good couple of games against england.

Rahul Sharma has never played against England. Only 2 caps are against the West Indies. He was pretty decent nonetheless.

i agree lol, it should be more compeitive than the test series, however i think aussies will win series.

I have a sneaky feeling for a rejuvenated Sri Lanka in the tri-series with a new captain and coach and off the back of a couple of wins and a close rain-effected defeat in South Africa. I can't help but feel that this tri-series is a little too lengthy - each team plays each other 4 times (8 matches each in total) when 3 (6 each in total) would surely have been sufficient and less tiresome. And that is before the 3 match finals series.

The T20s should be interesting with George Bailey captaining Australia and Brad Hogg back in the side.

Maybe we'll see Sachin Tendulkar get his 50th ODI hundred... or 100th combined Test/ODI hundred in this series?

It should be a cracker of a series. India will most certainly step up a gear for this; SL are always very competitive in ODIs... and it will be interesting to see if Oz will continue to deliver the goods for the home fans.

IMO from that squad, the side will be:

To have any chance they might want to play Dhoni as the w/k and finisher. Vinay Kumar won't play. Their bowling will be Zaheer, Praveen, Irfan Pathan, Ashwin plus Raina, Kohli and Rohit.

ah yes my mistake dhoni for vinay and have jadeja at 8 lol.
