Can I ask about whether these are "metal" songs and not Rock?

Some of them (such as Meatloaf and Tenacious D) are not metal tracks imo.

I would have picked something different if it had been Rock.

The closest songs in the 10 would be the 2 Maiden ones and the 2 System of a Down ones the rest I would class as hard rock

Bat Out Of Hell is AOR/soft rock
Rainbow is hard rock
Maiden, Ozzy, Metallica are Heavy Metal
Motorhead are somewhere in between Metal and hard rock
Tenacious D is a novelty act akin to the Baron Knights or Joe Pasquale laughing

Not sure how I would categorise SoaD as I'm not that familiar with them

Metallica are Heavy Metal but that song and to extent the Black album would be classed as Hard Rock

Ozzy, Heavy Metal in Sabbath but solo he was Hard Rock

Also - I misunderstood. I thought this was pick your favourite track from the category. Not pick the one you think will be most popular. Otherwise I obviously wouldn't have picked Sebastian Tellier and John Frusciante tracks!!!

From my point of view I consider Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Ronnie James Dio in Rainbow and Dio as Heavy Rock for me all of these guys just dont fit into the metal section.
If there are any reasons it is that all of these guys have been about a long time way before the phrase "metal" was coined and now that metal is possibly now more popular than heavy they have been pushed into that category.

What I’m planning to do from the next round is allow everyone to multi vote for upto 3 choices. This hopefully will create more diversity with the scores and ensure the point spread works better.
I also plan to show what songs have been chosen (but not you chose them) to avoid people picking either the same or similar.

Better view than me though, mine is of a 50 year old woman who haas not shut up about her son who ate a daffodil last night for a laugh so she was at a & e all night.

Daffodils are highly poisonous apparently, the bulb can kill you and it used to be quite commonplace that people thought they were onion bulbs.
