That 40 runs the Aussies got for the last two wickets was excellent but well played Sril Lanks to get so close

Australia won the toss and decided to bat.

After 50 overs they made 269/8 with David Hussey top scoring with 72(76) and debutante Peter Forrest making 66(83).

Yadav and Zaheer Khan were the most effective of India's bowlers, attacking the stumps while also keeping the runs down.

Sehwag is the only wicket to fall in India's reply.

After 17 overs India are 82/1 with Gambhir on 45(57) and Kohli 12(24)

India now 103/2 after 21 with Kohli back in the hutch. Evenly poised.

Interesting to see Ponting opening, and Tendulkar and M. Hussey rested.

well played india, a confidence boosting win for them, well played dhoni as well as gambhir.

We all knew MS is a fine ODI batter, and is particularly good at finishing. But today even I had given up hope, but he yet again produced the goods.
But I am more with the Gambhir school of thought, leaving it to the last over, adds a lot more pressure.
But Dhoni is Dhoni, and terrific on him for pulling it off.

Bit random CF90. Considering India's next 3-4 Test series are in the sub-continent, and they'll have two spinners, he's all ways in with a shout. Personally, Ashwin has been pretty poor and left the door ajar for Singh. Coupled with Rahul Sharma bowling well in the games he has played. Ashwin will need to buck up his ideas if he wants to be in the squad for India's tour of Sri Lanka.

I don't think Ashwin did that much wrong in the Tests - the pitches did little for spinners and he never had many runs to bowl out. I think he is definitely worth persisting with. I can't see Harbhajan playing Tests for some time, if ever again - it looks like Ashwin, Ojha, Rahul Sharma, Jadeja and possibly Mishra too are all ahead of him.

Never mind the schooling system, it is this damn English language. Ontop of that my fingers suffer from dyslexia, yoing with four of them tends to scramble the letters all too often.

Why couldn't everyone just speak afrikaans, it is a colourful language and no other language cusses better and more descriptive than afrikaans, eh?

I dont know about that biltong, the Dutch are pretty good in swearing. Better that Afrikaans i think.
