DUBAI 2012 Draw and Matches live!

I always liked Dubai as a tournament. Lots of money at stake and to me it;s the equivalent of a TMS.

The draw is interesting:

It's Djoko / MUrray on the same half (looking forward to a revenge there.

And It's Federer v Llodra first round. I am sure, you can bet on this that the are going to make Llodra play early Monday...Tuesday at the latest to give Federer max chance of winning that one.

The top draw is certainly the toughest with Berdych and Davydenko on top of Nole and Andy.

Just realised that Federer has Delpo again....but I am sure Delpo will start to feel it in the legs.

Gosh guys, don't be too hard on Murray. He's only trying to win tennis matches. You get the job done. Sometimes it's not pretty. Some players are never gonna be elegant or pleasing on the eye. Who's more successful - Murray, who can be a bit dull, or JWT who plays some wonderful tennis but never quite strings enough together to get up there with the top four ?
Brit fans would probably hate it if Murray played exciting tennis but kept losing.

Tipsy doing as expected so far

Dolgopolov had me screaming in anger after his defeat to Del Potro. Less DF's and more focus and he could easily be a top 10er.

tennis would be overtaken by paint drying as a hobby if someone like tomic can be more successful than dolgopolov.

If it goes to Djo vs Murray final, then it will be interesting. It will also be a little test for what all Murray said after the AO semis loss. Remebmer those, "I'm getting closer... " etc and how closer he actually is.

I would always prefer the confidence of a win over an experience that comes from a loss. A player feels better with even a poor win than what he will after a great loss. I feel that if a player came very close to winning but just missed it very narrowly, he doesn't actually get closer the next time they meet. I feel he gets further away. Especially if he is on a losing streak to the same player. The sooner he breaks that streak, the better it is. The closer to the finish line is the loss, the more it hurts the confidence. Thats why the Rome 2006 final loss was very very important for Fed in how his future encounters against Nadal may fare. If he had lost that close semis to Nalby ( thereby not suffering the finals loss), he might have even won FO 2006. This I believe happens in maximum, cases, bar a few exceptions of course.

Djo always ( and he knew it too even as back as 2006 ) had the game to beat Nadal on any surfaces. He just didn't have the body. Now when he does, he can always feel confident of his chances against Nadal.

Well, Djoko still hasn't secured the break he needs in the 2nd set.

always a good chance to improve your tiebreak stats playing a loose cannon like tipsy.

It's easier for Delpo. Tsonga may win over teh distance but Delpo can handle Tsonga's poweer than teh other way around.

DP dominates the tiebreak 7-1!

Delpo looks smoother and more fluid than Tsonga

disappointing from tsonga in the 2nd but he was being comfortably contained by DP.

This match clearly showed why Delpo won the slam and Tsonga didn't.

Delpo looking good! Should be an interesting semi with TMF.

I only saw the highlights, but how on earth did Murray win because he seemed to play much of the match practically in the first row of seats unlike Berdych who was right up on the baseline - did Berdych blow it or was it more comfortable for Murray than the highlights showed?

I must say I think Murray is looking really good physically atm - his legs look very lean and very muscular and not too big for the rest of his body unlike last year when they almost looked too powerful and heavy to run around for hours on end. He just looks leaner and sharper and pretty fierce!
