It's quite uplifting coming last actually...

Have you got a strong Yorkshire accent... but not as strong as a country one?

I have a Ull accent aparantley not really Yorkshire

Is that like a City Yorkshire accent?

Not really its not a strong accent compared with say Barnsley .

What's Geoff Boycott's accent... Barnsley?

Yes Barnsley or Leeds i think , mines not as strong as that

He is currently fighting with the cows, winning some ground as well

Full frontal attack most of the time. He is a big boy so can be quite imposing

What does he do? Just run at their legs or something? Very brave cat. Like the one in Footrot Flats... 'Horse'?

Can you video him in action one day and post it up? Would love to see him at work.

He hangs in the long grass by the fence and then charges at them. The more they run the more noise he makes. I have a great video of him jumping onto Hobbes the horse's rump and then being sent about 10mtrs in the air. I will put that on faceache tomorrow

btw, what did the horse do to make him so upset?

He was walking on their stable when he just jumped onto Hobbes back, Hobbes reared, Ballie went 10mtrs and then ran up the tree proclaiming victory

It was rather funny. His fights with the local fox are also quite comical

Foxes can be pretty nasty though, can't they?

We had a tough cat (we thought so anyway) back in the 70s. It disappeared one day. About a week later Dad found it with it's throat slashed... probably by a possum would you believe... under the house. The maggots were just taking interest in him. It was a pretty shocking sight to see at a young age.

Ballie is almost as big as the fox so its a fairly even battle. I used to worry but you cant stop it. The worst was when he nearly killed the neighbours Jack Russell, made him get 33 stitches. I thought the dog was dead

huh... and Jack Russells usually don't take a backward step.

NZ cousins had one and it used to kill cats. Took on a train though (they lived not far from the tracks) and it unfortunately came off 2nd best.

It was a short fight, Ballie had him around the throat and his legs scratched the poor things body to shreds. It has never returned to poop in my garden though

Reminds me of another cat v dog battle.

We had Tiger (female but very similar looking to Ballie... a tabby Persian) and the next door neighbours had this barking, smelly little Aussie Terrier or something. They used to have a go at each other through a crack in the fence. In winter, it wore what looked like a crochet vest (smelly looking too it was!)

One day I heard a commotion on the front verandah... then an ear piercing yelp. I rushed out and there was Tiger looking very pleased with herself... grinning at me and licking her paw.

At the top step up to the verandah was the vest - but no pesky little dog to be seen! Felt a bit sorry for it actually....

Great started at 1pm and we were still chewing the fat so to speak at 1am
