Ketchel ko12 Johnson - A few words that would've have changed Boxing forever!!!!

Johnson was decked off a guy he was supposed to carry for the TV cameras.......we all know that he recoverd and took out half of Ketchel's teeth...

However If Ketchel had landed properly and the referee had counted to ten the ramifications were huge......

1. Ketchel had won the greatest prize basically due to the biggest fix since Bush beat Gore in Florida...

2. It would have been years and years before Boxing's image and TRUST was restored.....

3. One of boxing's biggest legends becomes something more of a mere footnote!!! and he'd have been frozen out forever..No-rematch..

4. Ketchel becomes Top 10 p4p material........Fix or not...

5. The Heavyweight prize becomes slightly tainted from that day on....

6. The whole episode probably leads to even more unrest in America when the truth comes out!!!

The whole sport of Boxing's image probably never recovers a 100% as Johnson is such a big figure and to be shafted like that would have tarnished Boxing's image without doubt!!!

Ketchel and Johnson is kind of viewed as a comical episode because of the teeth incident......but it was very close to being something very defining for Boxing.....

Forget Louis v Schmelling or Ali-Frazier 1...........Ketchel ko 12 Johnson could've been the fight of the millenium let alone the century!!!

For all the wrong reasons!!!

It was a close one, he certainly gave him a wallop i personally don't think Johnson was expecting it. I'm not so sure there wouldn't have been a rematch but considering how murky the waters are surrounding the fight anything could have happened. Things would have been a lot different had Ketchel won though i agree.

Something tells me Truss that had the white Ketchel beaten the black Johnson that talk of a fix would hearsay after all fight film mysteriously disapears.
