The play offs: who will go up?

Who will it be? West Ham, Blackpool, Birmingham or Cardiff?

Conventional wisdom has it that a team that narrowly misses out on automatic promotion and finishes well ahead of the other teams in the play offs will find it difficult to get through the play offs as psychologically they will not be up for it. In other words West Ham may well stumble. In any case it's a bit of a lottery when a slice of luck or a bad referring decision can easily turn a tie...

Is it ironic that as Sam Allardyce is promoted to the Premiership with West Ham, two of the teams he managed in the Premiership, Bolton and Blackburn, are relegated?

I said this to a mate the other day. I am not a massive Allardyce fan but there is no denying he delivers.

What a day! Best atmosphere i have ever seen, the ground shook when we scored the winner!

Congrats all Hammers fans. I had a gut feeling you'd do it...though you certainly left it late!

Now though comes the real test...staying in the Premier League. Hope Big Sam is up to it and that the board back him in the transfer market.

Back from patrol. Pleased to see that West Ham won the final - though not nearly as comfortable as the semi. Hope that Jimbo has as much cause to celebrate next season!
