Pacquiao before Marquez 3!

Freddie Roach has dropped a bombshell recently giving the world a view of Manny Pacquiao's wild and hectic life behind the scenes. Roach explains that Manny was a heavy drinker ad degenerate gambler who was no stranger to nightclubs. This is SHOCKING news to me as I fought that Manny was the bible bashing humanitarian he was portrayed to be.

Roach had this to say i the Daily Mail....

'Basically all those distractions caught up with us in that last fight,' the bespectacled Roach said at the Wild Card Boxing Club on Monday before conducting a sparring session for Pacquiao.
'In the end, we had a bad night... our first bad night in 10 years ... and it was time for a change otherwise his career was going to be over.
'So he made those choices and to me they are all very good choices.'
'Manny has got rid of a lot of distractions in his life and he has some new distractions that are a lot better than the old ones.'

I am happy to hear that Manny has changed his ways for the better but lets think about this for a second.

Heavy drinker? gambling addict? womaniser? nightclub frequenter? how hard is it to believe that he was not a PED user to boot. Just saying. Heavy drinkers and gamblers are not known for having strong conviction. Manny has not looked the same since he beat Cotto and Mayweather and others brought up the PED's accusations.

I think his drinking is a bit exaggerated. He was a heay drinker when he was younger I think but not really anymore.

His gambling and womanising was fairly common knowledge I thought though??

Until Manny actually fails a drugs test I don't see the point of 'discussing' the same old points.

It comes to something when Manny gets just as much PED related press than Peterson for Peterson giving a positive sample.

I thought Manny's problems were Marquez style...and the fact that Saturn was in juxtaposition with Uranus!!!!!

If Roach wants to look for excuses.........he's forgetting we saw the first two Manny-marq fights!!!!!!!!!

Why?

Hes fought Marquez three times and never once convincingly beat him over the space of 6 years. Do you not think its simply more likely Marquez has the ability, style and experience to beat him? I doubt its a case of Pacquiao deciding to ditch the PEDs every time he fights Marquez and get on the hooch and women instead.

But are you an alcoholic, gambling womaniser? They're all linked you see? First you gamble to get money for the women. Then you drink to forget the women. Before you know it you're on the PEDs and your heads the size of "The Titanic"

I am not saying they are true but that these findings shed light on the whole situation especially the fact that he was a degenerate gambler. They are known for lying. I have studied the effects of addiction in the brain dealing mostly with left side brain reaction and counter reaction and people with gambling addictions fit a certain mould or type if you will.

It is always the case that they are more inclined to cheat in order to maintain their subsequent addiction.

They may shed light onto it If you are a wally!!!!!!!!!!

You not think that Roach is trying to sell Manny v Bradley....Basically giving his fighter an excuse for his poor performance so people can expect better!!!!...

De la Hoya was a gambling womaniser despite his "Golden Boy" image aswell. He moved through the weights successfully and even had a big enough head to match.

Im not sure Pacquiao is a degenerate gambler either. Hes wealthy and likes to gamble large amounts. Its not like hes robbing grannies to fund his habit though.

Even if Manny was/is an addicted gambler, and your studies prove a link to gambling and lying. He still hasnt failed a drugs test. Or am I missing the point??

Me too, albeit i've mentioned his womanising more than once here.

I do personally think Manny is on them, or maybe come off them since Mayweather's been accusing him hence his performances lacking of late but I can't use his personal life as proof.

I'd like someone who has been in a ring like me...to disagree with me how a guy can possibly fight twelve hard rounds and not have trained like an animal...

I think his only genuinely poor performance since Mayweathers accusations was against Marquez, a fighter hes always struggled with.

I haven't boxed at his level..but i'm sure Jabmachine would agree with my last post..

The reason Manny lost to Marquez is he can't fight boxers who don't walk forward and try to take his head off (Cotto, Margarito...).
