Well from that, the starting 11 would be

Hart

Johnson
Cahill
Terry
Cole

Walcott
Gerrard
Lampard
Young

Rooney
Carroll

I'm hoping that Lampard is being given the number 8 for sentimental reasons rather than an indication that he's going to be the preferred central midfielder.

I imagine the formation will be pretty similar to the one against Norway, that back five, with Parker and Gerrad in the middle, probably Walcott and Milner/Downing on the wings, Young behind Carroll.

When Rooney is the back, I think he'll come in for Milner/Downing, Young will move out wide and he will start up top with Carroll, operating more as a no. 10 than an out an out striker.

About to post the team that I would pick against the French but I see martyr_94 has already done it for me. In fact he's even picked the same formation as me with Gerrard playing behind the striker!

Anyways, whilst that is the team I would pick, I doubt it's the one Roy will choose. He'll go for a rigid 4-4-2 with Parker and Gerrard in the middle, Downing on the left and Milner on the right with Young playing just off of Carroll.

Parker-Milner
Walcott-Rooney-Young
Carroll.

With Rooney suspended slide Young inside and Downings the only option on the left (>:|).

Neither Gerrard nor Lampard good enough anymore.
