Its the moment you have all been waiting for, the final of the 2012 whos better tournement.

The final sees the best in the world CM Punk take on the british brawler Wade Barret.

CM PUNK

CM Punk is the current WWE Champion after beating Alberto Del Rio at Survivor Series 2011. He droped the belt to Del Rio back at Summer Slam having beating John Cena for the title at Money in the bank. He has also held the world title twice thanks to winning the money in the bank twice at consecutive Wrestle Mania's (24 and 25) His 1st run started when he cashed in on Edge after just being attacked by Batista on Raw in 2008. He droped the belt at Unforgiven where he was attacked by Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase backstage and couldnt enter his match. He got his rematch on Raw after against Chris Jericho in a steel cage match but was unsucsessfull. His next title run happend in 2009. He cashed in on Jeff Hardy at Extreme Rules after Jeff had just beaten Edge for the world title. He went onto lose the title to Undertaker at Hell in the cell 2009. CM Punk has also held the ECW and the tag team championship with Kofi Kingston.

WADE BARRET

Wade Barret burst on the seen in the WWE in 2010 in NXT season 1. He went onto win the season beating David Otunga in the final. On the Raw after though he shocked the world him leading his fellow nxt rookies to the ring and dismalinting John Cena, CM Punk and everyone around ringside. He was the leader of the group known as the nexus. Who caused caous in the WWE taking out people such as Brett Hart, Vince Mcmahon, Rickie Steamboat, Jerry Lawler and Edge. Once Wade lost his place in nexus he formed a new group known as the corre with Ezikel Jackson, Justin Gabrial and Heath Slater. The group helped Wade win the intercontential championship he defeated Kofi Kingston on Smackdown in early 2011 he went onto drop the belt to Ezikel Jackson at Capital Punishment.

I applaud you for doing this, but it is just lack of the draw that made Barrett reach the final. I don't see how anyone could vote for Wade in this contest.

Punk is the obvious winner here Barrett must have had the luck of the draw to make it this far as he is certainly not the 2nd best in the WWE.

think people are being harsh on barrett

he is wel liked on this board aswell as being english. i dont think luck got him here

i wont get into 'i told you so's' but.. i told you so. punk will win the next one and the next one, then whoevers current top face will win the one after that. this type of poll needs changing

I kind of like to view Wade Barrett as the British version of Hunico.

to be honest these whole threads have been a waste of time, and i dont mean to be disrepectful to the OP.

it's all about who they are competing against.

I mean come on, punk was always gonna be in the final 2, but who did barret actually compete against in the earlier rounds, sin cara, those two jobbers ryback beat on smackdown in his squash match and michael cole?

Do you really think that's true? If it was all about being the top face would Cena not have walked this competition? Personally I think boards like this and members of the IWC can be overly down on the so called 'top faces' (Edge just prior to retirment and Orton last year for example)but for me Punk has been the best thing about WWE for the past 3 or so years and I don't think their is anyone in WWE, with the possible exception of Daniel Bryan on his level, the likes of Ziggler, Rhodes and Barrett are on the rise but they don't yet have the collection of big time moments and matches to match Punk's resume and the likes of HHH and Undertaker are on their way down and rarely wrestle. Punk is a true all round mega star in his prime and I don't think the plaudits he recives in polls like this (particularly one that was purely WWE centric) are just down to him being a 'top face'.

i didnt mean to come across as using punk as an example. but there was only going to be him or cena or possibly orton winning this, as i did state in an earlier round. and with punk being the most popular person atm, only cena or orton could have challenged him in winning this

Cena is horribly unpopular and Orton has lost a lot of popularity in the past couple of years.

And CM Punk seems to be losing abit of popularity now he's a face.

If Cena came up against most people in this poll, he would lose. Don't mistake people sticking up for him as liking him.

Infact, i'll prove it in a completely unbiased and neutral poll.

I'd say it's harder to be accepted as a top face these days than it ever has been, especially among the internet community, Cena may have begruding respect of some people but very few rate and many openly hate him, Batista was something of a hate figure as well prior to his heel turn.

As I said before when Edge turned face, he may have had an iffy start (vs Jericho at WM) but he turned that around and for me was back to his best just prior to his retirement yet the reputation that he was sub-par as a face followed him around, again many people don't like a face Randy Orton despite last year (for me anyways) arguably being his best year ever, ok

HHH has never been best loved by many but many seem to hark back to when he was a heel and The Undertaker has his fair share of detarctors despite his legendary status, Sheamus the most recent addition to main event facedom is already facing calls of 'he was better as a heel' (he's better as a face if you want my opinion).

They do say it's easier to be hated than loved and in all honesty the only top guy who I can think was universally loved as a face was HBK, and that was probably down to him being one of the greatest ever to draw breath.

But honestly since the late 90's when wrestling fans were exposed to the anti-hero and the cool heel, I think it has been much much harder for someone to become accepted as a main event face, even after the initial buzz after Punk's face turn I have noticed a generally cooling of opinion towards him in some quarters, yeh he may have won this competition but genuinly in WWE who is their (thats in their prime anyways) with that all round skills and back catalouge of iconic moments to rival him?

This is HUNICO, a man respected across the world as one of the best in the business, the man who turned down a huge main event push on his debut in WWE so as to not upset guys like Cena and Orton, this a guy who pretended to be Sin Cara because he was only wrestler good enough to fake those botches.

Next week this competition returns.

I'm not sure if Fandango is even popular on here anymore but if so then I think we know who will be the winner haha
