'Mini league'

What's with all this 'mini league' nonsense?
What's wrong with good old goal difference and/or goals scored?

It's farcical isn't it!? Russia shouldn't have gone out and there was a stage tonight where Italy were top when really they should have been out.

Eh, the mini league might be taking it a bit far, but I do like the head to head for 2 teams.

Head to head or mini league should only be invoked after goal difference and goals scored.

Least we'll know the format after tonights games... "if" England qualify, we then lose on penalties

I don't even get the mini league. Spain and Italy had drawn with each other and Italy had drawn with Croatia. Spain were drawing with Croatia and despite winning the last game 4-0, Italy were top?

I can't feel sorry for Russia though after the behaviour of their fans.

Italy were top because they had scored more goals in games between the three than the others, Spain and Croatia were 0-0 and had both drawn 1-1 with Italy, Italy had scored against each of them so led 2-1-1.

It's quite simple really, I don't know why people are annoyed by the head to head part, more countries in Europe use head to head before goal difference and Greece use the mini league procedure for ties between 3 or more teams.

Still think they should keep it the same as before, if it aint broke don't fix it. Surely the fairest way is over all the games
