That's what I was thinking.

Meh. I think Federer gets easier draws normally.

Monfils is the only top-32 player not participating (still injured I guess).
World #33 Andy Roddick is the lowest-ranked seed.

Although it largely follows the current world ranking, there are some deviations: e.g. Berdych seeded 6th and Ferrer 7th (ranking are vice versa). I personally don't see the point of that: seeds 5-8 will be randomly drawn against seeds 1-4, so being 6th or 7th shouldn't make any difference.

But I know for those shutting their eyes for draw fixing, the exact numeric seeding positions are very significant :-)

IMBL : somewhat off-topic, but a very minor question please.

What should we understand by 'Meh'...? It's not a word/expression I've come across before, and I don't see it in my (usually trusty) dictionary. Just intrigued really .......

I saw Henman Bill use it once and I liked the phrase

In addition, there are some possibly dangerous unseeded opponents that could be drawn - even in the first round!

Dimitrov being unseeded may be a nasty floater in R1 too...how ironic if Federer faced him and lost...being 10 years younger...shades of Federer v Sampras.

Unlikely to a) meet, b) Federer to lose though.

No. That would still mean the favourable draw 15 times out of 18. Every now and then the unfavourable draw needs to happen or even you would get suspicious. But it already happened at the AO so I don't think it will happen so soon again.

Usually when the seedings are released you want to speculate about the possible match-ups in the tournament. That's just what I'm doing.
