I already have a lawyers offer of 4.5m for Barkley and I'm not even considering it, personally want to keep hold of both unless I can use them as part of a decent deal as both are going to be getting increased pitch time (especially Barkley now Cahill is going).

I probably need a bit more cover yes upfront and at the back but I'm happy with playing the waiting game on seeing which get game time once the season starts.

I'd do ALF + £1.5m for Joe Allen, but when you reject that I would only take Barton for ALF if you threw in some cash. Barton's ban makes him a problem, so i'd take him but i'd want compensation.
