Can Lisicki silence Sharapova?

OK so two Bollettieri girls are due to slug it out weather permitting later today. Lisicki apparently complained to the umpire about the noise her opponent was making in an earlier round as it put her off so goodness only knows where that leaves the Russian today.

Of course Bollettieri could encourage Maria to turn it down a little for all our sakes but he's on record as saying it ain't an issue which makes him I imagine rather hard of hearing at best. Furthermore he's stated in the i paper that he expects a Sharapova victory. Not a vote of confidence then for the German who apparently went back to his academy for some advice before the tournament started.

So we all know who to blame if and when the shrieking Russian triumphs. Anybody else out there really hoping that Lisicki wins and the shrieking stops?. I mean in an outdoor event it's pretty bad but when it moves (heaven forbid) indoors the mute button on my remote is going to get worn out.

I reckon PM has the right lozenge to silence Maria

I really want to see Sharapova and Azarenka dumped out as soon as possible - and if their opponents can use complaints about their noise to unsettle them or even persuade an Umpire to do something about it and create a huge controversy which results in the boil being lanced that would be even better.

(To be clear, I have no animus about the women themselves, Azarenka comes across as a decent person, and I admire Sharapova's grittiness without enjoying her style of play or her manner).

That's very diplomatic Barrystar. I on the other hand am a little more blunt.

I think Sharapova is an absolute disgrace as a person and as a tennis player. She clearly has no shame to scream her way through matches and has made it perfectly clear she never intends to stop. They should pin her down and tie a muzzle on her before she walks on court.

Maria could cure deaf people with her decibels.
