Just trying to get my breath back. THREE GOLDS yesterday, taking our total to 8. We sit 4th in the table, and with any good fortune should take 3rd today on Super Saturday.......will the cyclists, rowers, Mo and Jess make it a golden one?

Should be a cracking evening. Here's what the BBC say:

GB boxer Thomas Stalker in action (2130)

This track cycling is proper mental. I haven't a clue what's going on but I love it.

What's Ennis's lifetime best in overall points? Must be close to bettering it as she has beaten her lifetime best in 3 of her events so far?

Ireland have a fella doing well in the omnium, like a decathlon for track cycling is it? 7th after 2. Respectable. Best of lukc to Ennis and other GB lads/ladies tonight rooting for them.

Brazil have beaten Honduras 3-2 (Honduras had only 10 men for a hour) and will face GB/South Korea in the Semi.

The men can't do any worse than the women last night, surely?

It's extremely unlikely. For her to lose this gold, Skujyte would have to beat her in the 800 metres by 48.47 seconds. That is the nearest challenger and bearing in mind that Ennis's PB is more than 8 seconds faster than Skujyte's, then realistically, the only way Ennis can lose is if she is disqualified, or does not finish the 800 metres for any reason.

So basically, someone either shoots Jess Ennis or she comes up with an injury in the middle of the race.

Looking forward to the football, GB have done really well so far. Bellamy and Giggs have been sublime.

Also, Greg Rutherford and Chris Tomlinson of GB compete in the men's long jump final (19:55 BST). They've got half a chance.

Think Korea could beat them, Brazil will annihilate them. They keep possession well but are only alright, kind of want to see South Korea win that one, throw a spanner in the works.

Irish guy was doing well in the 30 Km walk earlier. I hope he can get a medal in that. Good Luck in all events ROI..!!

I caught 10 minutes of the walk earlier. If both feet leave the ground isn't that a foul? A lot of the walkers seemed to be doing that.

To be fair, Brazil beat GB 2 - 0 in a pre-Olympic friendly, but should have won by a bagful. Having said that GB were a team of strangers and have bonded a bit since then so although I still think Brazil would win, I would be surprised if it were a drubbing.

But who knows.... stranger things have happened in football........

What time is Ennis's 800?

He finished 9th, with a year's best Jen. When nearly all our track stars have performed poorly him and Cuddihy seem to have done well. It's not his main event either. That's the 50km, he did go today in the 20km.


Also we're Ireland at the Olympics, North and South not ROI, inclusive of everyone and all are doing us proud.


I just can't pback the footballers ,mainly as all the Irish lads are cheering on English soccer teams and that disgusts me.

Is that Dai Greene out?

Green is waiting on the next race. Not looking good.
