As you all know Kim is playing her last ever tournament next week (and hopefully the week after) at the USO. I came across this brilliant article and, surprisingly, learned she is the only mother to have ever been ranked World Number 1. She was one of my favourite players to watch and will be sadly missed on the tour I'm sure.

Fantastic player. Will be missed. It was good to see Henin and Clijsters come out of retirement. Rather unfortunate that Henin had to retire earlier, and now Clijsters.

My favourite player on the women's tour for quite a few years. Always good box office value, and has a real star quality about her. Watching her finally win a first Slam in the early hours of a Sunday morning at the US Open back in 2005 was one of my favourite moments in tennis.

Great player and a great character, too. I wish her all the best.
