Lunges - Underrated exercise Empty Lunges - Underrated exercise

Been doing a lot of Hack Squats and leg pressing for the last few years but I thought I'd give these a go again..

Wow my legs ached three days after...

Forgot how painful they could be and It's hard to cheat!!!

I do plenty of these during circuits at boxing. Killer! And that's unweighted!! Add even a small dumbell and it does an incredible job. A very worthy exercise.

Agree Truss, tremendous exercise which behind squats are a must is my leg work out.

Recently returned to the gym (from a weights perspective) and forgot how tough a leg session is. Not quite as hard as boxing, but a totally different type of workout.

Nothing hurts like legs as you know Mate..

That lack of oxygen/nausea feeling when they are toast!!

Best thing about a leg workout is when it's over...

The best/worst part for me is the days after. The muscle ache is great.

True, a tough leg workout makes you feel nauseous in a way that no other weights exercises can. It's probably why I rarely do much with the legs beyond bodyweight exercises at boxing! Erm

I had the old wobbly moment but never actually have way. Fists kind of boxing training do you do? You have access to some of the more 'modern' equipment such as prowler, sled big tractor tyres etc?

Pretty spartan to be honest. A gym with a boxing ring, punch bags, speed ball, floor to ceiling bag and then a few bits and pieces like kettlebells, tractor tyres and small dumbells.

Nothing modern.
