The Shield

Is apparently a possibility for the name for Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins

And apparently Punk has quite a lot of clout with who to put over from developmental.

Thoughts?

Personally feel The Shield is a bit dull .... lol (the name not the goup)

- It appears that Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, the rouge group of NXT attackers, will be known as “The Shield”.

WWE Spanish announcer Marcelo Rodriguez tweeted on Monday night [translated]:

“The Shield. Remember that name! I have a feeling that they will be as big (or bigger) than The Nexos or The Corre.”

On Tuesday night, he clarified that when they attacked Ryback at Survivor Series, they had badges on their black outfits that said “The Shield” on them, and that’s why he assumes their name is The Shield.

A search of WWE’s trademarks did not turn up anything for “The Shield” – but if their uniforms say “The Shield” on them, there’s a good chance that this will be the name of the faction.


- PWTorch.com is reporting that entrance theme song for the new group is rumored to be a song titled, “I’m Telling You” by the Cincinnati-based band “Damn It To Hell.”

Presume all will be revealed regarding name and entrance music on Monday though when Michael Cole interviews them.

its not great but could see the logo being the Punk one on the shirt with the circle and Chicago six sided star "in punk we trust shirt"


again not the best name but could be worst.

WWE have put a poll up on Tumblr to ask which of the three people are most excited about seeing on TV...

nice i am exited about both Ambrose and Rollins ....

but i cant help but feel Kassius Ohno would have been a better pick or even Pac (can't remember his WWE name)....I've never seen much of Roman Reigns

Everyone was immediately crying out for Chris Hero to have been the third man but I wonder if Reigns will become the fall guy of the group.

If it's indeed Punk pushing developmental .....

Maybe he sees Chris Hero as a face rather than part of a faction ....

However isnt Rollins the Uber Face of NXT ..... and isnt Punk mates with Hero

It would make sense if Punk is having input in development as WWE seem to be signing indy guys with reps .... El Generico is the latest to be shown intrest

If every heel group needs a future breakaway face character then that is Seth Rollins in this group... not to say that he will be the biggest star from it, but he will be the protagonist in their future break up.

Well we'll find out more on Raw next week .... interview in ring .... i expect to see Ryback

I've seen a few people saying that Reigns is the odd one out, but from what I've seen of him, he's not bad at all. He can go in the ring, he can talk, he's definitely got the look that WWE seems to favour, and just look at the family he comes from. The name Anoa'i tells you all you need to know...Afa and Sika, Rikishi, Umaga, Tonga Kid, The Usos are all directly related, The Rock, Rocky Johnson and Peter Maivia are all related in some fashion.

In a way, he's the guy I'm most excited about seeing. We all know that Ambrose and Rollins are awesome talents, I'm hoping Reigns can keep up with them.
