1991 and 2003 the host nation made it to the final when they weren't ranked 1 or 2...that's over performing surely

rugby is a game that really is true to 'home advantage' even in one of games.

Wales were never really expected to do any better than abysmally at that time.

In 91 ENG were no where near as good as AUS or NZ but got to the final and could have won it. Did better than expected.

99 - no realistic chance.

03 - They got to the final.... big surprise. They lost by 30 points in the 3N to NZ prior to the competition.

07 - Bit of a jinx admittedly... but they did well considering and falling to their arch rivals true to form is not really a jinx.

Since 2000 the boks have won 47% of matches against NZ at home... but only 13% away.
