The 606v Boxing Awards 2012 Have Arrived!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen! Allow me to welcome you to the event of the season! The 2012 606v2 Boxing Awards!

At this time I’d like to thank you all for your attendance; what a fine array of boxing knowledge there is in the room tonight. A special shout out to the Mod table, where I see Rowley smoking a Cuban and jotting down potential rivals to ban if they oust him in any of the categories below (they do). And it’s great to see Union Cane working the tables and paying off all the people he made prediction bets with and lost to this year, which was everyone.

Steffan and Emore look strapped in on the back table, and Chris is ensuring that Azania doesn’t kick off before the festivities even begin.

Hello to our Founder, Adam, up there in the box seats. I must say you and Fists make a lovely couple .

Please note: Not all categories had full participation (for example some people abstained in certain categories, or forgot to vote in them), so there are a varied number of answers in each category. Also, more than one person was voted for in certain categories (basically the first). This only really happened once or twice so I honoured all votes.

I'd like to offer my condolences to Jabmachine, who surely must've thought he had WUM of the year nailed down.

Well done to all the winners apart from Gordy because he's a hype job and nice going mister sarrilius for hosting the evening in true onetwo style. You were robbed on the unsung hero award.

The only award I wanted to do well in and I was beaten soundly by MM - well done sir, I believe you had my vote too, good win well earned!

Sitting on the same number of votes as Gordy and Waingro for newcomer, and being nominated for WUM (wait my post was this year? Christ on a bike) - think I'll take a brief sabbatical from posting lads

All in all, can't complain - think a lot of the people I voted for won, well done to Chris especially who makes this place a hell of a lot richer by being a part of it.

It was great to see so many people nominated and thanks a lot for your kind words JabMachine and JohnBloodyWayne. I enjoyed putting it together. Really pleased for Chris winning Poster of the Year. Although I wish I had renamed it so he didn't sound like he was a piece of paper plastered to a wall.

Having watched sports personality last night I have realized good form in these things is to thank the team you have around you, with this in mind I would like to thank TSMR, my friends, family and everyone at Living TV for putting so much guff on that TSMR insists on watching forcing me to spend so much time on here and the Cyber Boxing Zone. I would also like to thank the countless authors whose works are a constant source of inspiration and or plagiarism, am genuinely gutted at missing out on the series of the year award, although guess doing ten in ten days literally days before the votes were in was a little transparent and needy, although Chris’ series was bloody good so not sure anything would have rescued that cause.

Congratulations to all the winners and merry Christmas all round.

Not sure who enjoys Az as a guilty pleasure. He's just boring... Do find Trussy amusing though.

Nice to see Gordy finally getting some credit.

Think I went for Steffan, not strictly speaking a wum but having the flags of whoever England were playing as his avatars during Euro 2012 was the work of genius.

Good gesture you putting in the time & effort. As Mobile said...genuinly nice to recieve a couple of nominations especially for Unsung Hero.

I actually signed up to this forum in 2011 & barely posted...happy to say I have visited..read & contributed far more this year and have thoroughly enjoyed debating & having a generally good time on this forum in 2012.

Think I will have to make sure 2013 is the year I contribute further with some articles of my own in the hope of nabbing some awards next xmas.

Big thank you to the king of 606 88chris05 aswell as Rowley, Manos & Captain whose threads I have not only loved reading but also learnt much from.

Guys like yourselves (and the late Windmill) are a credit to these forums & drag from a mere argumentative forum to one which people can come onto and increase their knowledge two fold.

Congratulations to all of those who picked up an award and also to all those who were nominated right across the board - we're second only to rugby union for active posters and number of articles / posts, so it's no mean feat!

A genuine thanks to anyone who forwarded my name, too. Just been tallying up, and it appears as though a couple of others must have voted for me on top of those ones I bribed (still waiting for a couple of you to PM your bank details, by the way). 606v2 is all about fun debate at the end of the day, but it's still pretty nice and humbling to get that small bit of recognition now and then.

May as well announce my v2 retirement now, as things clearly won't get any better than this for me!
