Did anyone watch this last night on BBC1?

I thought it was excellent. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

The meercats having the stand-off with the bird was very funny.

I watched a small part of it with the scary-ass crickets, they looked like something out of a horror movie!

Yes, the ones that tried stealing those baby birds! Evil little things.

Any Attenborough programme in HD is unmissable.

That scene at the waterhole with the elephant behind the springboks was amazing as was the giraffe fight & the bizarre rhino behaviour.

Incredible first part of the series. Cannot beat an Attenborough documentary.

If there's any species you'd think couldn't be cute it's a black rhino but there you go.

That bit was very funny. The giraffes having a scrap was good

I watched it and was completely blown away once again by Attenborough. I was lucky enough to visit South Africa last year and can honestly say it is the most amazing country I've ever visited and couldn't recommend it enough to everyone.

Just watched it. Brilliant.
