Billy Davies New Forest Boss

Nottingham Forest have re-appointed Billy Davies as their new manager, just 20 months after he was sacked.

Davies has signed a three-and-half-year deal and told BBC East Midlands Today he has "unfinished business" at the club he left in June 2011.
The 48-year-old Scot said: "I am delighted to be coming back to finish the task that my staff and I started. It feels like I am coming home."

Former Forest coaches David Kelly and Julian Darby have also returned.

Kelly has left his role at Walsall to join as deputy manager and Darby will become first-team coach, while Pete Williams also returns as goalkeeping coach. They will all work alongside Rob Kelly, who remains assistant manager.

Little bit of bowing to fan pressure after the last month. Rather him than McLeish tbh, and has a track record in this division of getting teams up around the playoff spots.

I know you shouldn't be surprised by anything in football , but i am a little bit surprised he would want to go back given his previous with chairman not wanting to spend any money and interfering in team matters and from what has been explain about McLeish's departure they were at the root of it

New Chairman tho, Mark Arthur gone (2 didnt get along) and Billy needs a job.

I suppose that's what it comes down to isn't it , if you get offered a route back into management you jump at it .

and like he says he feels he has unfinished business .

I give it till June when they fail to get promoted and then Davies starts moaning about how little money he gets to spend...

Lets hope he gets on better with Al Fazawi than he did the previous board...otherwise it might not be long before they're looking for their 5th manager.

He has a big budget to work with, and the squad he has atm is easily good enough for promotion. So i think he will do fine.

I class myself as a Forest follower (not a supporter as I haven't been to games regularly since the late 90's) but even I have to laugh at the way things are at the moment.

I stopped going to matches the day racist Ron was made manager and the fact I could go and watch and support "Our Nige" at Burton made it easy.

Still rather irritating Billy who at least has a track record of success than clueless McLeish.
