I've said all season Bournemouth should walk the league with the money they've spent. They've still got to perform and they have, so fair play, but it's wholly unfair they are allowed to bypass the rules on expenditure.

Morning,

With respect to Scholes, Pirlo might be the best modern era player never to win a balloon door
Scholes+ > Pirlo

Andrea Scholes+ will win the balloon door in the next year

Looking forward to United/Real tonight. Proper Champions League game, that.

I disagree Soddy. Andrea Scholes+ is.

Yeah cant wait for tonight. Its what the Champions League is all about, big games on the big stage.
Surprisingly I'm not nervous..........yet.

Ronaldo & RVP both to score 5/1 is my bet of the match.

I was thinking I'd go 4-4-1-1 with Rooney behind RVP to try and disrupt the deep midfielders when they get it. Carrick and Jones in the middle and Valencia right. Maybe Welbeck on the left sheerly based on work rate and hustle?

Wouldn't play Welbeck, he's gash.

I'd sort of go with the 4-4-1-1 and have Rooney make a 3 when Madrid get it. Jones has to play, a game SAF would've loved to have Fletcher I guess.

Based on work rate and tracking back I think he has to have someone like Welbeck or Rooney on the left to help Evra. Nani ain't going to cut it...

Madrid are going to attack. Id guess Man United will set up to counter attack, Valencia on the right to help Rafael with Ronnie.
Id say Young on the left but he has only returned from injury, Nani has only had a bit of playing time lately, Kagawa bit more but not loads. Can see Welbz on the Left to track back too.
Roo center just behind RVP, he will be dropping deep at times trying to take a CB with him but will end up with Khedira on him most the time leaving RVP to battle both Ramos & Pepe (he returned on the weekend).
Id expect Carrick & Cleverley in the center but if Jones is fit enough id prefer Carrick & him.
Rio & Vida CB's, Raf & Evra.

Why are you having a go at me, I'm not taking the mick Erm

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/9864738/Real-Madrid-v-Manchester-United-Phil-Jones-and-Jonny-Evans-back-in-training-boosting-Alex-Fergusons-options.html

It has been predicted Jones will be handed a midfield holding role, after successfully shackling Gareth Bale and Marouane Fellaini in recent weeks.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2277483/Phil-Jones-ready-Ronaldo-Real-Madrid-Manchester-United-man-marking.html#axzz2KlylQbs7

Jones has performed in a man-marking role before. In recent games he has marked Marouane Fellaini of Everton and Tottenham's Gareth Bale but could he cope with Ronaldo's speed and power?

Azzy, i though you were taking the mick. Apologies.

You asked the question: "Well then why have the media gone crazy for Jones, saying that he's stifled both Fellaini AND Bale in recent weeks?"

and I answered it.
Now I dont recall Jones marking Bales to be "fantastic" but looking back on the game Bale didnt do didly squat, Lennon was a constant danger to Evra & Dempsey rescued a point for them. So maybe he did do a fantastic job on marking Bale out the game. It defo wasnt raved abvout in the media like his job on Fellaini was.
Way I see it is it all boils down to your dislike/hate for Man United to give Jones any credit.
The fact is he was given a job and he did his job to the extent it frustrated the intended target to the point of him being ineffective. To me thats a job well done & Jones deserves some credit for it.

Media are always going to hype it more when its an English player.

However much I like Fellaini and however much I think Bale is a great player who is carrying Spurs, Ronaldo is just a different kettle of fish.

I think if United try to mark him, they won't succeed in stopping him, but just take one of their own players out of the game. Teams have come to the Bernebeu all season and tried to mark him out of the game, and I am yet to see anyone achieve it

Zebs you are on something this morning Laugh

I said "Well then why have the media gone crazy for Jones, saying that he's stifled both Fellaini AND Bale in recent weeks?" because YOU said
No no, Its Rafael 'Bale Slayer' Da Silva

But as far as I can see and read, it was Jones who did the job on Bale.

I've not said anything negative about Jones, all I did was point out that he also did a job on Bale. And for that I get all this?

Screw you, I'm never saying anything good about United again. I hope Sour Face scores 400 goals tonight.

Liverpool are rubbish too, I hope Zenit thrash them 8-0. But I hope their players don't get racially abused (almost certainly going to happen though).

I hope Spurs lose every game for the rest of my life.

I hope Bournemouth crash and burn like Newcastle all those years ago.

I hope Wycombe's ground falls down around them.

I hope Barnet get lumbered with Edgar 'Stevie Wonder' Davids for 100 years.

And above all else, I hope Phil Jones gets mullered by Ronaldo.

Err if all you did was "point out that he also did a job on Bale" then you didnt actually say anything good about Man United or a Man United player. You just pointed something out.

And yes its Rafael 'Bale Slayer' Da Silva as everyone knows how Raf kept Bale in his pocket, that's more clear then Jones doing in the other month. Media raved about it, like they are now with Jones & Fellaini.

United are a horrible club

Zebs, I was turning your way, and you've set me back

Not really, we splashed out with the aim of promotion but there's a difference between spending and overspending. Bournemouth are overspending drastically. And there's nothing sour about that, regardless of Cherries, plenty of Bournemouth fans are actually likeable and I wish them every success.

And despite Cherries saying we are in a relegation battle, we're still much closer to the playoffs than we are to the relegation zone Wink

I don't care who comes up from League 1 so long as Sheffield United stay down.
